How I Cook Paksiw Na Bangus (Milk Fish)

How I Cook Paksiw Na Bangus.gif

Hello! How are you? Every time my cousin is out of our house for days, I always cook this food because that kid doesn't want to eat when he hears our lunch is Bangus (Milk Fish) LOL So every time I cook this I always cook a backup food just for him hahaha as I remember when goes home from his mother's hometown they always eat fish one of them is Bangus (Milk Fish) it is either fried, paksiw, sinigang.

I guess he is so done with this fish I always tease him whenever he asks me what is for lunch or dinner I always say Bangus LOL. And he hates vinegar which I guess he got traumatized when we made him taste it when he was young LOL.

I remember the first time I cooked Paksiw na Bangus I cooked it with high heat the fish doesn't look like a fish anymore so low heat is the key some people cook it with the scale, it is a no-no for me. I did not enjoy the skin because of the scale. Hehe.

So yeah this food gets more delicious as time goes on when I cook this I usually cook it in the morning and eat it at dinner because the flavor is getting more savory.

Ingredients I Used:

  • Bangus (Milk Fish) Slice into 4
  • 2 tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 4 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Medium Red Onion
  • 1 Medium Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 2 Cups of Water
  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes

Time To Cook!

4.jpg

First, put 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in the heated pan.

8.jpg

Then I put in the garlic, red onion, and ginger and let it saute until the fragrance and brown.

9.jpg

And then I add 2 tablespoons of fish sauce.

10.jpg

And then I added 4 tablespoons of vinegar, this vinegar is my go-to vinegar when cooking Bangus na Paksiw. It is good for dipping whatever you want the vinegar is called Pinakurat.

11.jpg

And then I added pepper.

12.jpg

After that, I added 2 cups of water.

14.jpg

And then put the cut Bangus (Milk Fish) in.

15.jpg

I let it cook in low heat for 10 minutes per side. Cooking it on high heat will vaporize the whole fish LOL it will not look like a fish anymore.

16.jpg

I forgot to add the chili flakes, so I added in because mother forgot to buy green chili. People here like their paksiw hot.

17.jpg

Now it is finally cooked! To know how to look when it is cooked is by looking at the eyes when the eyes turn white and pop out the food is ready.

18.jpg

It is ready to be eaten perfectly with rice.

Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
