Reversible apron (ENG/ESP)
Greetings with much affection to all my artisan friends of this community, I hope you are having a good and productive week.
Today I share with you an apron that I made to use it on both sides, it is a reversible apron, I made it with a sunflower print fabric, being a very nice and suitable fabric to beautify and give joy to the kitchen, they are flowers of very vibrant colors, combined with a blue pocket.
On the other hand, I used a beige fabric with a red wine colored pocket, I liked it very much, this combination is very versatile.

Hoy les comparto un delantal que hice para usarlo por ambos lados, es un delantal reversible, lo hice con una tela estampada de girasoles, siendo una tela muy bonita y adecuada para embellecer y darle alegría a la cocina, son flores de colores muy vibrantes, combinadas con un bolsillo azul.
Por otro lado, utilicé una tela beige con un bolsillo color vino tinto, me gustó mucho, esta combinación es muy versátil.

I started by folding a piece of printed fabric 60 cm wide by 70 cm long, folded in half.
With a tape measure, I began to trace marking the guide lines with the pencil, at this point I marked the length, width and side measurements of the apron, then cut out.
Measurements.
Upper bust, 22 cm, plus 1.5 cm for sewing.
Sides 22 cm.
Length 68 cm.
Width 43 cm.
Empecé doblando un trozo de tela estampada de 60 cm de ancho por 70 cm de largo, doblado por la mitad.
Con una cinta métrica, empecé a trazar marcando las líneas guía con el lápiz, en este punto marqué las medidas de largo, ancho y laterales del delantal, después recorté.
Medidas.
Parte superior del pecho 22 cm, más 1,5 cm para coser.
Laterales 22 cm.
Largo 68 cm.
Anchura 43 cm.

With the piece cut from the printed apron, I made the other side of the apron with the beige fabric.
To make the pockets, I took 2 rectangles of the blue and red wine fabrics, cut out the pieces for the pockets and additionally made some linings to make them more resistant.
The size of the pockets is 18 cm wide by 13 cm long.
Con la pieza cortada del delantal estampado, hice el otro lado del delantal con la tela beige.
Para hacer los bolsillos, utilice 2 rectángulos de las telas azul y vino tinto, recorté las piezas para los bolsillos y adicionalmente hice unos forros para hacerlos más resistentes.
El tamaño de los bolsillos es de 18 cm de ancho por 13 cm de largo.

Cutting out and completing all the pieces, including the straps, I started sewing the pockets with the lining first.
I sewed the pocket pieces right sides together, I sewed with the machine threaded with blue thread and straight stitching, I left a 5 cm bottom opening to turn the pockets.
Recortando y completando todas las piezas, incluidos los tirantes, empecé a coser primero los bolsillos con el forro.
Cosí las piezas de los bolsillos colocando las caras por el derecho, despues cosí con la máquina enhebrada con hilo azul y puntada recta, dejé una abertura inferior de 5 cm para dar la vuelta a los bolsillos.

Center the position of the pockets and pin in place, then sew with a straight seam.
For the upper edges of the bust and sides, I sewed 4 cm beige bias binding on one of the apron layers.
Centre la posición de los bolsillos y fije con alfileres, para luego coser con la costura recta.
Para las orillas superiores del busto y de los costados, cosí unos sesgos de 4 cm de color beige, en una de las capas del delantal.

I paused to sew the straps, as these should go on the inside of the apron layers and then sew them on.
The measurements for the straps are.
Neck 52 cm.
Waist 50 cm, each.
Hice una pausa para coser los tirantes, ya que estos deben de ir por la parte interna de las capas del delantal para después coserlos.
Las medidas para los tirantes son.
Cuello 52 cm.
Cintura 50 cm, c/u.

Finishing with the straps, I pinned them to the apron, sewed the pieces together right sides together, leaving the hem seamless to turn it over and finished off all the edges with double straight seams.
Finally, I ironed both sides of the apron and it was ready to be used for daily household chores.
Having an apron is very important for a housewife, it prevents us from getting our clothes dirty when we are doing daily household chores.
If an unforeseen event comes, or if we are going out suddenly, and we are doing some chores, we just take off our apron and look like we are not doing chores, we will be clean of unwanted residues and no one will notice.

Terminando los tirantes los fijé con alfileres y cosí las piezas juntando ambas por los lados derechos, dejando sin costura el ruedo para voltear y rematar todas las orillas con costuras rectas dobles.
Finalmente terminado el delantal planché ambos lados y quedo listo para ser usado en las labores diarias del hogar.
Tener un delantal es muy importante para un ama o amo de casa porque nos cuida de no ensuciarnos la ropa cuando estamos haciendo los oficios diarios de la casa.
Si llega una vista inesperada, o si vamos a salir de repente, y estamos haciendo algún oficio, solo nos quitamos el delantal y quedamos como si no estuvimos haciendo oficios, vamos a estar limpios de residuos no deseados y nadie lo notará.
