Renewing my beige canvas bag (ENG/ESP)
Happy and blessed needle Monday, I hope you are all well; with your loved ones and that you had a peaceful weekend.
The rainy season begins in my country and it is always a good time to renew, it is time for growth, planting and harvesting of many foods.
This season inspires me and puts me in a very good mood to take out many works that I have saved, and I could not focus well by the stress of the heat, and by this time the rains and the good cool weather arrived, so with a good cup of hot coffee or chocolate, it ends up being the ideal time to create and renew.
In this needle Monday I share with you a project of renovation of my bags that I had long wanted to do; and I say my bags because there are several that I have on hold, some of mine and others of friends, and for the economic circumstances, it is better to renew than to buy, to save that money and compare other necessities.

Feliz y bendecido lunes de agujas, espero que todos se encuentren bien; junto a sus seres amados y que hayan pasado un fin de semana tranquilo.
Comienza la temporada de lluvias en mi país y siempre es buen momento para renovar, es tiempo de crecimiento, de siembra y cosecha, de muchos alimentos.
Esta temporada me inspira y me pone de muy buen ánimo para sacar muchos trabajos que tengo guardados, y que no podía enfocarme bien por el estrés del calor, ya para este momento las lluvias y el buen clima fresco llego, así que con una buena taza de cafecito caliente o chocolate, termina de ser el momento ideal para crear, y renovar.
En este lunes de aguja les comparto un proyecto de renovación de mis bolsos que tenía mucho tiempo queriendo hacer; y digo mis bolsos porque son varios los que tengo en espera, unos míos y otros de amistades, y para la circunstancia económica, es mejor renovar que comprar, para ahorrar ese dinero y comparar otros útiles de primera necesidad.

One of my favorite bags is this one that I show you; this bag was made by a great friend; she gave it to me with love, it is a very durable bag, made in beige canvas, that with the passage of time and use ended up with several stains; although he already came with some black stains, because my friend decorated it that way, other unpleasant stains very different from the decorative ones were added.
In view of this, I stopped using it, being saved, to renew at some point, so that day came and with the materials that I show you below, you will notice that I was able to give it a totally different look, it was like new.

🦋 Piece of leather printed with a butterfly.
🦋 Craft buttons made of coconut shell.
🦋 Brown and light beige threads.
🦋 Hand sewing needle.
🦋 Pins.
🦋 Scissors.
🦋 Ruler.
🦋 Pencil.
🦋 Scissors.
🦋 Sewing machine.
Uno de mis bolsos favoritos es este que les muestro; este bolso lo hizo una gran amiga; me lo regalo con mucho cariño, es un bolso muy duradero, elaborado en lona beige, que con el paso del tiempo y el uso termino con varias manchas; aunque él ya venía con unas manchas de color negro, porque mi amiga lo decoro así, se le sumaron otras manchas desagradables muy diferentes a las decorativas.
Ante esto esto, dejé de usarlo, quedando guardado, para renovarlo en algún momento, así que llego ese día, y con los materiales que a continuación les muestro, notaran que pude darle un aspecto totalmente diferente, quedo como nuevo.
Materiales:

🦋 Retazos de tela gruesa.
🦋 Trozo de cuero estampado con una mariposa.
🦋 Botones de artesanales hechos de concha de coco.
🦋 Hilos marrón y beige claro.
🦋 Aguja de coser a mano.
🦋 Alfileres.
🦋 Tijera.
🦋 Regla.
🦋 Lápiz.
🦋 Hojilla.
🦋 Máquina de coser.

With total care using a scissors, I unpicked all the pieces of the bag, removed the excess threads and began to make the new pieces, which will cover the imperfections, such as stains and some holes that I have.
The new pieces that will go on top of the previous ones, I cut them 2 centimeters more, for the seam, and some of them I cut bigger, so that everything would be very well placed and I could cover the imperfections.
Con total cuidado usando una hojilla, descosí todas las piezas del bolso, quité los hilos sobrantes y empecé a hacer las nuevas piezas, que cubrirán las imperfecciones, como manchas y algunos agujeros.
Las nuevas piezas que irán encima de las anteriores, las corté 2 centímetros más, para la costura, y algunas las corté más grandes, para que todo quedara muy bien colocado y pudiera tapar las imperfecciones.

I sewed a 5 cm ribbon along the bottom edge to cover several stains and some holes that were almost at the top edge, these were from some magic zippers, that my friend had placed with silicone and that when they were damaged to remove them we had to cut part of the fabric where they were.
Cosí una cinta de 5 cm por el borde inferior para cubrir varias manchas y unos huecos que estaban casi en el borde superior, estos eran de unos cierres mágicos, que mi amiga le había colocado con silicona y que cuando se dañaron para poder retirarlos hubo que cortar parte de la tela donde estaban.

I continued sewing other pieces such as an external pocket with flap, it was not very easy because of the thickness of the fabrics, but I was able to achieve it, with a little patience and care, luckily despite being thick fabrics I did not lose a single needle.
Continué cosiendo otras piezas como un bolsillo exterior con solapa, no fue muy fácil por el grosor de las telas, pero pude conseguirlo, con un poco de paciencia y cuidado, por suerte a pesar de ser telas gruesas no perdí ni una sola aguja.

When I finished sewing the pockets to the bag, I only had to sew with the machine the top flap and close the bag at the bottom base, pieces already cut in the previous step, but before sewing the top flap, I cut a butterfly that I liked a lot to decorate, because it is in leather and makes a very nice combination with the material of the bag. I couldn't sew this butterfly with the machine because it is a thick leather and I didn't want to risk it, so with the help of the hand sewing needle, which is very resistant, I pierced the leather making several holes to sew it by hand, with thick brown thread, this seam was made with buttonhole stitching, but separated to make it easier, because it is a thick material.
Finished sewing the butterfly I joined the layers, sewed with the machine, turned right side out, at this point the flap of the bag is ready to sew it to the bag.
I made the flap a little bit longer because the previous one seemed to be too short, it always looked like it was lifted, now with this renovation it is totally tight.
Al terminar de coser los bolsillos al bolso, solo me quedaba por coser con la máquina la solapa superior y cerrar el bolso en la base inferior, piezas ya cortadas en el paso anterior, pero antes de coser la solapa superior, recorte una mariposa que me gusto mucho para decorar, porque es en cuero y hace muy bonita combinación con el material del bolso. Esta mariposa no la pude coser con la máquina por ser de un cuero grueso y no me quise arriesgar, así que con la ayuda de la aguja de coser a mano, que es muy resistente perfore el cuero haciendo varios orificios para coserla a mano, con hilo grueso de color marón, esta costura la hice con costura de ojal, pero separada para que se me hiciera más fácil, ya que es un material grueso.
Terminado de coser la mariposa uni las capas, cosí con la máquina, voltee al derecho, en este punto la solapa del bolso está lista para coserla al bolso.
La solapa la hice un poco más larga debido a que la anterior me pareció que era muy corta, siempre quedaba como levantada, ahora con esta renovación quedo totalmente justa.

At this point, I closed the bag with the bottom piece, here I had to combine the fabrics because I did not have enough to put only one tone, but I did my best to make it look aesthetically good; I joined the layers and pinned them to the bag, trimmed the excess fabric, sewed with the machine all around the bag, then I turned it right side up.
En este punto, cerré el bolso por con la pieza inferior, aquí tuve que combinar las telas porque no me alcanzo para colocarle de un solo tono, pero hice lo posible para que se viera estéticamente bien; uni las capas fije con alfileres al bolso, recorte los excesos de tela, cosí con la máquina por todo el contorno del bolso, después voltee por el derecho.

I secured the top pieces with pins and sewed them by hand with thick light beige thread, double stitching tightly.
Finally I sewed the buttons and ready, now my bag is renewed; it is one of the works with bags that I most enjoyed doing, I love it, I'm happy to be able to use it again, my friend saw it, she couldn't believe it, she was impressed with my work.
Asegure con alfileres las piezas superiores, las cosí a mano con hilo grueso beige claro, con doble puntada bien apretada.
Por último cosí los botones y listo, ya mi bolso está renovado; es uno de los trabajos con bolsos que más me ha gustado hacer, me encanto, estoy feliz de poder volver a usarlo, mi amiga lo vio, no lo podía creer, quedo impresionada con mi trabajo.
And this is how this renovation of one of my favorite bags has turned out because of its color and texture. Since it can be useful, resistant and combines with many colors of garments that I want to use.
