Diy/ Fancy Sweet Plate.

Hello DIY community, it's another beautiful week and I am excited to be sharing another DIY in the community this beautiful Monday.

I was at a company with my boss to get some disposable plates for an event and while at the reception I noticed a glass plate sitting on the receptionist desk. It was filled with sweets and chewing gum, I guess it was there for customers refreshments but the plate was still full at that time of the day.

I watched patiently as people troops in and out of the place but only a few people noticed the plate. While staring at the plate an idea came to my mind and on our way out, I told the receptionist that the sweets would have attracted people's attention if it was in a fancy container.

I honestly didn't know if I was making any sense but I felt they needed a fitting container for those sweets. On my way home, I checked only for fancy sweet containers and decided to make one for myself.

Materials.

• Cardboard
• Gum
• Scissors
• Carton

I started by cutting the same rectangular shape from all the cardboard colours I had. This cut-out will be used for the base of the container and everything has to be the same size.

I started folding the rectangular shape one after the other till I folded everything.

I joined them side by side and used a rubber band to hold the ends of the folded card to the gum very well.

I removed the rubber band and stretched the folded cardboard.

I joined the two ends with gum and waited till the gum dried.

Now that the base is ready, I made the container itself with the same colour as the cardboard I used for the base.

I cut out another rectangular shape but it wasn't as big as the base.

I folded it just like I did with the base and joined the ends together.

I joined the ends together and made it stand instead of laying flat like the base.

I placed the container inside the base and cut out a round card that would sit inside the container.

I applied gum to the edge of the round card and placed it inside the container.

Finally, I got a rectangular card and placed it under the base to make it easy to move the fancy cardboard plate around.

It would be impossible for anyone to walk past these sweets and not notice them.
