Oil & Water [ESP/ENG]

Hiii, happy Valentine's Day to everyone, starting from there; I hope you are having a great time with that special person no matter who your Valentine is, which can be yourself as well.

For this theme I would like to talk about the only couple or romance that has caught me in something related to the gamer world; I know there are many legendary couples but, really, those two made me fall in love with their unstable and unacceptable romance and I'm talking about Caitlyn and Vi.

I knew absolutely nothing about League of Legends before meeting my Mo @ilazramusic, so much so that I didn't even know that there was a game called League of Legends; since I knew about it, it caught my attention but its complexity and the requirements it needs to be installed and used optimally, which my laptop doesn't have, made my interest in the game go down a lot.

My Mo told me that Riot Games was about to release a series on Netflix about League of Legends called Arcane, it would tell the story of certain characters in the game and, as a good audiovisual artist, I was very interested in watching the series.

At first I didn't understand anything, but with the advice of my Mo @ilazramusic who was explaining me what certain things meant, I began to understand much better the plot of the series to the point that, currently, it is my second favorite series and the one that I have already seen 3 times looking for the fourth.

Basically, I fell IN LOVE with the series as a whole, all its composition is art and audiovisually it has had me in the clouds since the first time I saw it; here I could spend all night explaining why I love the series but I would deviate from what I came here for.

When we were introduced to Vi I associated her a lot with my older sister, because she has always presented herself to everyone as a brave, strong, tough, independent and resilient woman and, not that they are not, but inside they are very sensitive people, with many fears and insecurities that they cover with that tough personality as, also, people who have a great burden of responsibility that sometimes they feel they cannot cope with.

Caitlyn, on the other hand, seemed to me the perfect character to play the counterpart to Vi and even the series itself makes it clear in the episode of the two of them: Oil and Water; Caitlyn is a sensitive woman, she appears to be very fragile and naive, she has had a life full of privileges and comforts but she is really a very strong woman, highly intelligent and eager to prove that she has been underestimated too much.

They are what in psychology is known as Complementary Opposites, which are more common in interpersonal relationships than is believed, one has what the other lacks and vice versa, supporting each other and COMPLEMENTING each other; however, this type of relationship is the most difficult to cope with because, being opposites, generates a lot of chaos and differences in thinking.

Many times this type of couple does not become long term due to the amount of chaos and also because the dominant party tends to be too much and the submissive party basically loses autonomy.

Why do I love this relationship so much?

First and most obvious, it is known that currently the inclusion issues, especially with the LGBTI+ community, have been very forced but in this case it is not so; League of Legends has years giving hints of a possible romance between the two that had not been made canon until the series but ALREADY EXISTED; it is a purely organic inclusion and, to some extent, functional.

It can be considered that their relationship is not entirely healthy, neither can we draw many conclusions based only on what we saw in the first season of Arcane, there is much lore to develop and then we can judge but, based on what was seen, I feel that it is a very strong relationship and that their synergy is incredible; Vi takes Caitlyn out of her comfort zone as Caitlyn helps Vi to not be so impulsive and irrational, between the two they help, support and COMPLEMENT each other.

Caitlyn is my favorite character of Arcane, she is the only one that didn't make me want to hit her through the screen but that's what makes me love Arcane, it's a very real series, its psychological aspects are very accurate and how they used the audiovisual narrative gave me an incredible satisfaction; I really find it incredible that I haven't made a review of Arcane at the time.

I'm currently playing Wild Rift and I've wanted to start playing with Caitlyn but I still have a lot to learn, I've only been playing for two days and I'm very bad; curiously, my Mo @ilazramusic plays a lot with Caitlyn as ADC so even in that we are connected, you may very well see me on Halloween disguised as Caitlyn due to our subtle physical resemblance.
