Christmas is in the Air at Market-Market!

Hello, everyone!

This would be my first entry into this community and I am excited to be sharing with you about my recent visit to Market-Market in BGC, Taguig.

png_20221020_202554_0000.png

I decided to went to the mall to buy something - a litter box and litter sand for my two fur babies, my two loving cats, Nono and Donalyn.

The moment I enter the mall, I could already hear the loud Christmas songs playing. I smiled as I was singing along (in my head) to the songs that were being played. And it felt good. Well, it always has as it brings back happy childhood days, every time I hear those songs. Anyway, here in the Philippines, we have the longest celebration of the Christmas season. It usually starts on September 1 and ends on January 6 (the celebration of 3 kings).

On my way to the store where I could buy the stuff for my fur babies, I was entertained by the varieties of Christmas trees for sale being displayed everywhere.

Now it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I was humming to myself as I was looking at those cheerful trees in different sizes and colors.

It felt like I was entering a Christmas village as there were Christmas trees everywhere and there were also some with snow effects.

When I saw these displays of Christmas trees with a sofa and dining table, it made me think of home. Me, my family, happily felt the warmth of the sofa back home as well as shared a delicious Noche Buena with my loved ones. Since I am living away from my family, Christmas means to me "going home". And these views look like home to me, which made me excited more to come back home. Ahhhh, I can't wait for Christmas vacation to come!

There were also a variety of Christmas balls. There were different sizes and colors to choose from.

And the Nativity Scene which we also called here Belen. Whenever I see a Belen it reminds me so much of my Mama, because she always tells me that she has always been fascinated with it ever since she was a kid. And when I finally earned money on my own, I bought a Belen for her. I could still remember how happy she was at that time. She looked like a kid who received a very special toy. And for me, that moment was priceless. Seeing her happy like that, was everything. Ahhhh...can't wait to see and hug her soon.

I was so entertained by these Christmas decorations that I almost forgot why I came here in the first place.

And so my feet decided to take me straight to where I should be looking for in the department store --- to the pet stuff section.

When I reached the pet corner, I saw different stuff. There were cute fur dresses, toys, cages, chains, etc.

And then I found the one that I was about to buy, this green litter box.

IMG_20221020_211906.jpg

I was excited to give it to my fur babies as an early Christmas present. They will love it, for sure. I bought it for 239 PHP ($4.06). I was glad that it was not that expensive as I what I expected it would be. And then I headed to the grocery store because it's where I could buy the litter sand.

Upon entering the grocery store, my attention was immediately caught by the varieties of fruits, especially the pomelos that were carried by this cute donkey.

IMG_20221020_214449.jpg

There were lots of enticing fruits being displayed which made me crave them instantly.

IMG_20221020_214924.jpg

I picked up one pack of grapes to satisfy my cravings which cost only 73 PHP ($1.24).

And then I saw these imported pumpkins, which since we do grow here in my country, I was amazed to see personally. They looked so cute and with different shapes. But I only took picture of it, not having to plan to buy it though. [Lol]

IMG_20221020_214806.jpg

And since I am already in the department store, I decided to buy something to cook when I get home. I headed to the frozen goods and saw there were different meats and seafood to choose from.

IMG_20221020_221709.jpg

IMG_20221020_221729.jpg

IMG_20221020_221745.jpg

I bought some fish for 52 PHP ($0.88) and chicken for 58 PHP ($.99).

And then I went to the pet corner where the litter sand is being displayed. I get the 4 kilos which cost 260 PHP ($4.43).

IMG_20221020_214350.jpg

And before my hands would take more of the unnecessary things that are way beyond my budget, I decided to proceed to the cashier to pay for what I purchased which cost me a total of 443 PHP ($7.54). As a total, I spent 682 PHO ($11.58) which for me is still budget-friendly. I did not spent too much with those items that I purchased.

At my home, I had imagined that my fur babies would be so happy to see why I had just bought them.

And when I finally get home and showed them the litter box with the sand already put in it, by looking at their reactions, I suppose they were happy. Haha!

IMG_20221020_212131.jpg

IMG_20221020_212145.jpg

This is Nono's reaction. I could say he was happy though he only threw me a poker face. Haha!

IMG_20221020_212226.jpg

And her reaction. This is Donalyn by the way. She has been my painting buddy for 4 years now.

Reading their reaction, although they often give me a poker face [Lol], I supposed they were quite grateful for this early Christmas gift. And then I greeted them Meowwwry Christmas! Haha!

Thank you friends if you ever happen to pass by on this market experience I share as my first participation in @dswigle's #MarketFriday.

Happy Fri-yey everyone! ☺️

I guess Filipinos are the ones to be celebrating the longest Christmas season in the world haha, and it's great! It is also warmer here, literally compared to other countries who are experiencing winter. ☺️

Btw, if you don't mind me asking, are you a Pinoy? Or half-Pinoy rather? ☺️

not pinoy at all, but my wife is full. I'm half chinese, half german+french.

and hawaii is almost as hot as PH, during bers and all year round. but we get tradewinds from the ocean here and no rainy season like PH has.

:)

Oh, what a lovely family photo right there. 😍
I see, I almost forget Hawaii is also a tropical island😁. Yeah the rainy season here during Ber months means also the visit of destructive typhoons every now and then. 😞 But nevertheless, the glittering joy of how Pinoys celebrate Christmas is everything! ❤️

Welcome to #MarketFriday!!! I am so glad you came! You really took me on a tour of the town, didn't you? This was awesome and I even got to meet your fur babies! How adorable. I cannot believe how expensive pet sand is! It is probably double or even triple the price here!

I am having dinner with you! Fish and chicken! :)

I loved the Christmas section of the store. So many beautiful trees! Christmas is my favorite time of year. How can you not love it? The Christmas nativity is my favorite also - and my mother's My mom got me my first one which I love!! I can only imagine how thrilled your mom was getting hers from you! Thank you for a wonderful post! It was a fun day spent with you!

Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I hope you know how much I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through this and all of the posts, with this thought in mind. I am running a little behind this week and for that, I apologize. Still, I make it a point to give time to the challenge and make sure that nobody is skipped.

I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to get to know you and your piece of the world just a little bit better. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, I especially love the small things that may go unnoticed, except if you take the time to look for them. Life has been interesting for me this week, and I hope your week has found you happy and healthy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service. It can be a movie, an auction, or even a museum. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or product.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive? Did it go up or down? A scroll of pictures with few words doesn't usually work.
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess about some.
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  5. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!
