Bee mobile's 🐝/ Móvil de Abeja 🐝 [En/Spa]

Hello DIY community, I'm Yleana from Venezuela and I decided to participate in the bee month in the community 🐝.

As I have a small child I found it an excellent opportunity to see some crafts and explain what bees are, where they live and their importance.

He was very entertained and we shared a lot, at the end he made a presentation to his dad, with what he liked the most:

🐝 The little house of the bees.
🐝 Number of eyes
🐝 The queen
🐝 And the honey

For this activity we took what he liked, which was the little house, and we designed a part of the honeycomb, with two little bees (which we would be mom and Santi).

For this we will make a kind of mobile, transparent. And we will need:

🐝 Yellow Foami.
🐝 Blue, black paper
🐝 acetate sheet
🐝 Wooden pallets
🐝 White rubber
🐝 Black marker
🐝 Scissors

Step by step

  1. Cut out the body of the bee with the yellow Foami, then cut out the black parts with the black paper, such as the stripes, the sting, and the little eye. The blue paper is used to make the bee's wings.

  1. With all these elements, glue them with the white glue little by little. First the stripes on the body, the sting and the eye. Finally, glue the wings.

  1. On the other hand, we will make the honeycomb, we will take the acetate and we will make a hexagon with the wooden paddles. We will glue it with white glue to the acetate. We will do it on both sides to reinforce the honeycomb. Let it dry.

  1. When the honeycomb is ready, proceed to glue the little bees on the acetate in any way you like. Let it dry for 5 minutes.

  1. With a black marker, draw the path of the bee inside its honeycomb, with dotted line.

Optional:

If you want you can put a ribbon to hang it wherever you want, you can also use a string or just leave it as a decorative painting.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do ☺️

Y necesitaremos:

🐝 Foami Amarillo
🐝 Papel azul, negro
🐝 Lámina de acetato
🐝 Paletas de madera
🐝 Goma blanca
🐝 Marcador negro
🐝 Tijeras

Paso a paso

Awww, thank you so much. Yes, he was very excited. He is very hands on and was happy to use a scissors like mine. I also took the opportunity to show him a little documentary. And I introduced him to his dad hehe. We really like to do different things and I wanted to introduce the subject and I took advantage of the challenge hehe.
