Wat Rattanawas Nong Teng, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Hello everyone. Mae Ai District is a rural district in the northern part of Chiang Mai Province. Most of the area of this district is surrounded by nature. And is another district with ethnic group diversity. Although there is a diversity of ethnic groups. But most of the people of this district are Buddhists. When we travel to Mae Ai District. We will see many temples. Both small and large temples. So me and my wife like to visit this district when we have free time. Even though we like to visit this district often. But we still haven't visited all the temples in this district.
Last week my wife and I had some free time. So we have the opportunity to visit Mae Ai District again. And we visited Wat Rattanawas Nong Teng. Small temple in this district. We didn't plan to go to this temple and didn't know about temple before. But we know and have information from local people that there is this temple. So we wanted to visit and go to Wat Rattanawat Nong Teng for the first time.
Brief history of Wat Rattanawas Nong Teng, this temple is not sure when it was built. But the temple was permitted to be established as a temple in A.D. 1923. And the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in A.D. 1989.
Throughout the travel route. We will see mountains on every road. That day the sky was clear and the atmosphere was good. Take a look, the atmosphere of traveling on the roads in Mae Ai District first. Let's go.
When we arrived at the temple. We'll see the nameplate of this temple first.
The entrance arch of the temple is made of teak. But it is an ancient teak, hundreds of years old. Which the villagers in the village at that time excavated and discovered 4 teak trees. And used some teak to make the pillars of the temple entrance arch. The roof of the entrance arch is built in Lanna style.
When passing through the arch into the temple. We see the buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple. Of course this buddha image hall (viharn) is also built in Lanna style.
The Lanna Kingdom once ruled the northern region of Thailand, thus inheriting art and culture. So most of the temples in the north are built in the Lanna style.
This buddha image hall (viharn) is therefore decorated with Lanna art style patterns. Including doors and windows too. And at the entrance stairs there is a serpent sculpture.
Inside the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with beautiful patterns and paintings on the ceiling and walls. The main buddha image and other buddha images inside the buddha image hall (viharn) look beautiful too.
As we walked past the buddha image hall (viharn), we see a multi-purpose building. On the left side of the multi-purpose building, there is a Lanna-style bell tower.
On the right side of the multipurpose building there is a pavilion. Inside the pavilion there is a large main buddha image made of teak. Which are 4 teak, the same teak that make the entrance arch to the temple. This main buddha image is called Phra Phutta Si Rattanachai Suwan.
Area the back of the temple there is a large white pagoda. This pagoda has a square-shaped foundation. The bottom and middle of the pagoda is polygonal shape. And the top of the pagoda is a bell shape. The stairs leading up to the pagoda have a pagoda-shaped arch. The overall picture of this pagoda looks beautiful. Me and my wife like this pagoda.
Other areas within the temple, building is being built. And most areas have large trees. Therefore, this temple is another beautiful and shady temple worth visiting.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

This architecture is amazing, I love the style of the temple. In Thailand, I find some place looks so similar to each other especially in village.
Have a great trip ☺️
