Kawał historii na jednym obrazie - interpretacja "Stańczyka"
Jan Matejko - Stańczyk
Zacznijmy od tego, że tytuł Stańczyk jest skrócony. Właściwie Matejko nazwał go Stańczyk w czasie balu na dworze królowej Bony wobec straconego Smoleńska, co dużo szerzej wyjaśnia kontekst historyczny.
Obraz przedstawia Stańczyka, czyli nadwornego błazna Jagiellonów. I chociaż był on tylko błaznem, przypisywano mu dużą mądrość. Wspomniany tytuł sugeruje, że scena pochodzi z 1514 roku. Jednak mamy tu pewną sprzeczność historyczną. Otóż Bona została królową w roku 1518, a na stole znajduje się list datą 1533.
Moskale zdobyli Smoleńsk w 1514 roku, choć trudno mówić, aby miasto zostało stracone, gdyż wojna trwała do 1522 roku i zakończona została rozejmem, który trwał do roku 1533. Wówczas zmarł car Wasyl III, a władzę przejął szesnastoletni Iwan IV Groźny, choć prawdopodobnie w jego imieniu rządzili nieudolni Bojarze (przedstawiciele wyższej szlachty). Polski król miał więc idealną okazję, aby rozwinąć skrzydła, wykorzystać potencjał sojuszy i powstrzymać potęgę Moskwy. Tak się jednak nie stało.
Błazen rozmyśla nad osłabieniem Polski i Litwy, gdy Zygmunt Stary i królowa Bona tańczą po prawej stroni obrazu. Ponadto obok tronu błazna znajduje się berło...błazeńskie berło. Postać na szyi ma medalik Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej. Według Matejki scena stanowi moment, który miał kluczowy wpływ dla upadku naszego państwa. Warto podkreślić, że twórca namalował go w czasie manifestacji antyrosyjskich, które 1863 doprowadziły do wybuchu powstania styczniowego.
Jeden z kronikarzy tak oto opisuje Stańczyka:
Otóż gdy Stańczyk wrócił kiedyś obdarty przez ulicznych chuliganów, król wyśmiał go szyderczo. Stańczyk odpowiedział:
"Ciebie, królu, gorzej drą; wydarto ci Smoleńsk, a milczysz".
i inny cytat, który nawiązuje do nieudolności Zygmunta:
Gdy król się śmiał z uciekającego Stańczyka, ten odparował:
"Większy to błazen, co mając niedźwiedzia w skrzyni puszcza go na swoją szkodę."
Chociaż Zygmunt Stary wyruszył na Litwę w 1533 roku i rozpoczął próby odzyskania Smoleńska, operacja się nie udała. Polska i Litwa przegrały walkę o prym na tych ważnych ziemiach.
Sam tego nie dostrzegam, lecz podobno na obrazie (za oknem) widoczna jest kometa i według kronik w roku 1533 na niebie faktycznie się pojawiła. Oczywiście symbolizowała nieszczęście.
Warto dodać, że Stańczyk może dumać nad tragedią Bony, która poroniła, co miało wpływ na wygaśnięcie dynastii. Tak czy inaczej, jest to obraz bardzo symboliczny, który "opowiada" o upadku, nieudolnej władzy i niewykorzystanych szansach.

I cant prove @battleaxe is the one directly doing the V2K and RNM. Doing it requires more than one person at the least. It cant be done alone. She cant prove she is not one of the ones doing V2K because she cant and could care less. I guarantee she knows this is going around and still wont prove it because she cant. Świetny opis. Co ciekawe, chociaż Matejko był niemal zawsze odsądzany od czci i wiary przez awangardowych twórców XX wieku jako malarz akademicki, Stańczyk nieraz ich inspirował.
