Hello fellow TCG enthusiasts!

For today's giveaway I wanted to bring attention to the Splinterlands proposal system. The grand design of SPS is ultimately that it is a governance token to determine how Splinterlands will progress going into the future. All SPS holders will be able to vote weighted by their staked SPS on changes. This feedback system is now partially live though SPS weighting is not. I for one am incredibly excited for what this means for our community.

Currently, I am supporting the below initiatives/requests. Regardless if you agree with them or not, I implore you to vote. Make your voice heard and be a part of the force for change behind Splinterlands.

Giveaway Prize

Winner's choice of one of the below reward cards or 10 DEC. Although these reward cards are quite common they are awesome and surprisingly powerful, especially for newer players.

How to participate

  1. Upvotes highly appreciated as they help me to continue hosting these but not necessary. Also not required but follow for future giveaways.
  2. Leave a comment including the desired reward, the Splinterlands name the reward should be sent to, and your response to the below prompt.
  3. Spread positivity in your life.

So this year my SO and I are planning to send out Xmas cards to friends and family. In prep for that we got Atlas and Nobu little 'costumes'. Atlas of course being the good boy he is was easy enough to bribe to sit still with a few puppy crackers. Nobu on the other hand wasn't having it. This is going to be more of a challenge than I thought.

Ha, that wouldn't unfortunately stop mine. Atlas is agility trained and has no problem opening latches, jumping fences etc... Nobu... well, hes a cat and just does what he wants.

Also, I know in the past I haven't required much other than a comment but as an FYI I've opted to require a prompt response going forward for these giveaways.

It's not there as a physical barrier, but a psychological one. My dogs know that if my jump or open the indoor baby gates or play yards, that's a one way trip to their kennel for awhile.

I don't actually remember what I voted on. Last time I looked at that page there were only a handful of proposals. It's a bit overwhelming now with so many.

It definitely is and a lot of them are poorly written. That said, I think it is important that we all go through with this. If we don't put our thoughts out there they won't know what we want as a community.

After realizing how important rentals are for noobs and poor players, I would like to see the in game rental system be improved so we're not forced to use 3rd party applications to compete for rentals.

I think it is less the 3rd party apps that are the problem and more how EoS is designed. Right now the majority of ALL demand for rentals is at the very end of the season. Theoretically in a real market this demand would be spread out a bit more over the season. Having agreed upon contracts in addition to the 24 hour rental system would go a long way to bring this card rental market closer to place of how a real rental market works.

Yeah, the system isn't perfect for sure. That is why one of the proposals I am pushing is to link it to Hive accounts. I imagine this is already in the pipeline but it is critical imo.

That said, he does have a point. Older cards are technically over-priced right now. That said, cards aren't 100% priced based on their CP value. There are plenty of cards that are way more expensive due to their utility.

Ahh this is really good quality of life change.

Yeah, the settings menu in general is quite lacking. Options for colorblindness, decimal settings, font sizes etc

I'm gonna vote on the proposals right after this post. It's awesome that the devs are listening to so much feedback from the community, so we should definitely use that service!

I agree. It is one of the things I really find as a draw to take part in this community. Really a great thing to see. I know there are problems with having it weighted with SPS as well but it is what it is and ultimately, if you want to invest in the game I think that ultimately should give you some rights as to how it operates. That said, I highly doubt Aggroed and the SPL team would ever give up majority control which really means its all moot anyways. Regardless it is a symbolic move.

I love the way Splinterlands keeps us informed about the desions they make and why they make them. With Governance this game will be decentralized and will make this game a little more epic. I haven't voted yet but I intend to. Thanks for the giveaway.

Yes, its definitely a step in the right direction. Ultimately, between Aggroed and the rest of team they will still hold majority of SPS and as a result ultimately the say of what goes. That said, this type of transparency in voting is far beyond any other major game out there.

Yes, the rental system absolutely needs to be reworked with the changes to how EoS works.

As it stands, Almost all rental demand is forced into one 24 hour period which is terrible for pricing. This means that basically all rental money is made by jacking up prices at the last minute and the rest of the season you risk having cards not rented out.

Personally I feel it's worse for renters than owners but I agree it's not great from that perspective for owners too. Basically I feel that if you do a rental and agree a time then it should be fixed at that with no cancellation allowed - perhaps allowing owners to set a maximum time rentable - that might just push the end of season rush out to whatever that maximum time is though.

hey, I read all of them (or at least up to 150 or 200 or something) and voted on the ones I support, I also added 3 or 4 minor ones myself
two of the ones I voted on - remember battle playback speed & stake ALL sps - have already been implemented, so yay

Yes, they have really been taking this system seriously. Multiple proposals that have been put on there have actually made it into the game. It gives me serious hope as to what will come.

I have not voted for Two reasons, First i dont have really time to read all and vote and second i have so few sps that my vote has no Weight really

Well the system as it is right now isn't weighting SPS so really the only issue for you atm is time. At the very least I'd suggest going and voting the top or trending ones up or down.

Thank you for the Heatsmith, would love a Pelacor Conjurer! I haven't voted on any proposals since I feel my minnow account doesn't matter a whole lot and my opinion is less experienced than the larger content creators on the platform.
