Mid-July dark pinup à la carte!

Good evening to some, good morning to others! It’s almost 1:00a.m. and I’m just winding down. This was a good day, actually. I met a new friend this morning for sushi, then came home to @guthrie. I ran an errand of the heart midday leaving a green curry and fresh raspberries from my garden on the door of my love’s car. I made a boba tea stop, then straight to @caffetto and for the rest of the night there, I sat and edited. Sometimes I’ll do entire blocks of one client and other nights [like tonight], I’ll just do one each for a few clients. I love having that kind of freedom to decide my workflow while being at my favorite spot.

First up, this is a new photo with my friend Lisa. I met Lisa originally at Viva Las Vegas last year. She was part of a workshop I did with my Cervena Fox. I was the guest photographer and the event was fully booked. Of the dozen models that participated, Lisa was a real stand out. Her presence in front of the camera was excellent, but it was her sense of humor and energy. On occasion, I’ll meet someone while traveling and feel, “I need to stay in touch with this person.”, and that was Lisa. This was our second shoot together as she booked a private session with me during this year’s Rockabilly Weekend.

Next, this stunning shot is with burlesque legend, Emma Vauxdevil. We’ve talked about this collaboration since before COVID. In fact, it was the pandemic that derailed our plans. We stayed in touch and I’ve always wanted to work with her. She’s an exceptional model and where the gothic look has become increasingly more popular over the last the years, few pull it off at the level of Vaux. She also has a litany of talented like fire eating, lassoing and ship cracking, and her tongue is spit. She such a memorable woman in the pinup scene and this shot shows her for the timeless beauty she really is.

Lastly, this Vegas shot is of my friend Rachel. She contacted me prior to Viva somewhat unsure if she’d be booking a session but as my travel dates came closer, she placed a deposit and nabbed my last available date for a dark pinup shoot. She booked a beautiful hotel room on the strip and as plans changed [as they often do during Viva], I ended up splitting the evening between her and another client. She was super flexible and we were able to get some strong sunset shots, then the ambiance of the strip at night once the sun went down. Way more of Rachel still to come.
