Capturing creative professionals!

What’s up, Hive? It’s late, but I’m still up. Overall, a good day. I started with a therapist a couple of months ago and today’s session was measurably helpful in some of my ongoing life struggles. After that, a wrap, mostly made with vegetables out of the garden. Kickboxing, @caffetto, and the Saw V with @guthrie. That’s a pretty good day as I reread it, and that’s what I’ve maintained consistent blogging participation on Hive since 2016. I use this as an opportunity to be accountable for how I spent my day. There’s a very good chance that Hive will outlive me, so this is all part of the documentation of how I spent my existence.

I have some new work to share today from Los Angeles. Every year, I travel to LA for a week before going to Vegas for the Rockabilly Weekend in April. About a week before I had to leave for the trip, I got a message from a talented make-up artist near Long Beach looking to book a session for headshots. This isn’t a huge part of my work, really, but when someone needs new professional portraits, I’m always happy to oblige. I looked at the schedule and was able to fit her in on my first day. Once I got there, I got off the plane, picked up my rental car and went straight to Pasadena to meet her for this session.

As usual, my location of preference when in Southern California is The Clarke Gable estate. Over the years, I’ve worried that there isn’t enough variety in my shoots but truthfully, I’ll never find a place more appropriate for my style then there, and it’s big enough that I can always find new ways to shoot the space. We shot throughout the main room utilizing the large windows with available light and French architecture, then made out way outside to the garden for lush captures of flowers and foliage. The result was a series of headshots that’ll look great for a creative professional.

I have another two sets of edits still to come from this shoot so I’m looking forward to getting to them and several of the other shoots from this trip. I’m hoping to get in several long @caffetto sessions over the weekend. It’s now almost 2:00a.m. and although I should get to sleep, I have some work I’d like to get to on outlining a new writing project I’m hoping will help me through some of the aforementioned stress and relationship woes. For now, I’m going to get this on the blockchain and start to wind down for my nightly ritual. Thanks for reading and following me here on Hive. Good night!

It's always a good opportunity to take jobs that we don't usually do, you can get really good results like your photos.

I really liked this session where you highlight a lot the makeup (it was the goal, as I read).

You always do a really good job @kommienezuspadt friend and I always enjoy them. Have a great weekend and all the best with your stress issues. Best regards!
