Últimamente han salido una ola de actores y actrices que dicen con orgullo que no les gusta ver cine, que les aburre. Por contraparte, también hay muchos actores que aman ser cinéfilos y eso me parece una bendición, ya que escuchar a alguien apasionado para mí siempre ha sido un encanto, pero yendo más allá de los actores, me gusta mucho cuándo los directores son genuinamente amantes del cine y se puede notar por sus películas, cómo por ejemplo Tarantino. En referencias y guiños en las películas se puede ver muy bien cuándo a un director le gusta el cine o no, pero me parece mucho más interesante cuándo no solo lo aman sino que lo respetan y quieren homenajearlo de alguna manera, haciendo una película que trate, básicamente, de hacer cine. Si no me logro explicar del todo bien, aquí van ejemplos de lo que digo:

Lately there has been a wave of actors and actresses who proudly say that they don't like watching movies, that it bores them. On the other hand, there are also many actors who love being cinephiles and that seems to me a blessing, since listening to someone passionate for me has always been a charm, but going beyond the actors, I really like when directors are genuinely film lovers and you can see it in their films, like Tarantino, for example. In references and winks in films you can see very well when a director likes cinema or not, but I find it much more interesting when they not only love it but also respect it and want to pay homage to it in some way, making a film that is basically about making cinema. If I can't explain myself well, here are some examples of what I'm saying:
Nope
Nope realmente tiene varias capas y cada vez que la revisito o me acuerdo de ella solo logra fascinarme más y más. En la superficie, Nope es una película de terror cósmico, una de las mejores películas de aliens que han salido y una historia sobre lo que podemos llegar a hacer por ser reconocidos; esto no tiene mucho que ver con el cine, pero Jordan Peele, siendo todo un cinéfilo y friki, decide que el punto clave para “vencer” al alien sea utilizando cámaras de película analógicas, honrando así de alguna manera a esa forma clásica de hacer cine. Pero no conforme con eso, Peele también hace mención a lo que se podría decir fue la primera “película” de la historia y hace que sus personajes protagonistas trabajen dentro del medio.
Nope
Nope, really has several layers to it and every time I revisit it or remember it, it only manages to fascinate me more and more. On the surface, Nope is a cosmic horror film, one of the best alien movies ever released and a story about what we can do to be recognized; this doesn't have much to do with cinema, but Jordan Peele, being a film buff and geek, decides that the key point to “defeat” the alien is to use analog film cameras, thus honoring in a way that classic form of filmmaking. But not content with that, Peele also makes mention of what was arguably the first “movie” in history and has his main characters work within the medium.
The Fabelmans
La película autobiográfica de Steven Spielberg no puede son tratar de cine, eso es un hecho. La historia de cómo Spielberg empieza grabando cortos con su familia, para pasar a hacerlo en su escuela y terminar siendo el director que todos conocemos es ya de por sí muy interesante, pero vista desde el ojo tanto nostálgicos cómo encantado de su protagonista cómo también su director, la película se siente planeada en cada plano y eso es un acierto. Una película que habla de la familia, del cine y de la historia de vida que tal vez no necesitábamos, pero obviamente si queríamos.
The Fabelmans
Steven Spielberg's autobiographical film cannot be about cinema, that's a fact. The story of how Spielberg starts filming short films with his family, to go on to do it in his school and end up being the director we all know is already very interesting, but seen from the nostalgic and delighted eye of its protagonist as well as its director, the film feels planned in every shot and that is a success. A film that talks about family, cinema and a life story that maybe we didn't need, but obviously we wanted.
El Artista
varias películas han querido mostrar lo difícil que fue para Hollywood saltar del cine mudo al cine sonoro. Hace poco, por ejemplo, se estrenó Babylon y sin importar lo que diga la gente, es una película magnífica, pero El Artista, lo hizo primero… Y mejor. Una película en blanco y negro, muda, que muestra cómo fue la transición del cine es, sinceramente, una idea increíble y está ejecutada a la perfección desde el diseño sonoro hasta la actuación de su protagonista que, sin decir nada, expresa todo lo que necesita expresar. Además, a diferencia de Babylon, the artista muestra una cara de Hollywood preciosa, con un respeto tangible y una admiración que se transmite completamente durante toda la película.
The Artist
Several films have wanted to show how difficult it was for Hollywood to make the leap from silent films to talkies. Recently, for example, Babylon was released and no matter what people say, it's a great film, but The Artist did it first... and better. A black and white, silent film showing what the transition of cinema was like is honestly an incredible idea and it's executed to perfection from the sound design to the performance of its lead who, without saying anything, expresses everything she needs to express. Also, unlike Babylon, the artist shows a beautiful face of Hollywood, with a tangible respect and admiration that is fully conveyed throughout the film.
