Do men have the power to know the future?
Yes.. Man has to be knowledgeable about what the future holds for him, despite the condition and challenge that we may be facing today, there is every need for every believer to know his standard regards to the faith he has, which has to be maintained with what it takes to be in the right sight of the Lord.
Is it true that man can't physically see beyond what the future holds for him or her but can do so through understanding the word of God, implementing it, and being spiritual? Despite God having control over all that happened in the universe, he gave us the power to read and understand the word, which changes our lives for good, which entails what the future holds for us.
Therefore, within the context of the book of John 14:29, reveal to us the scenario that plays out within Jesus and his disciples foretelling us what the future could be, while addressing his disciples, he reveals to them about his death and also his resurrection, which was actually made known to his disciples, which has to be applicable to where we Christians are in place to sense what the future could be. So therefore the knowledge derived is to sense the future is divine, which improves us in our daily engagement with God's work, which is known to us that God is the one who knows better in our future.
Across Proverb 16:9, let us know that we believers or humans are required to have a plan that is according to the desire that God has, which is expected of us to work in his principle that is in alignment with his plan he has for us on earth here, hence on that note, it is demanding for us to bear humility within us while acknowledging that God is the ultimate whose plan, supersede our own intention, is necessary, we keep on trusting in him and working in his guidance.
So as we are still alive, there is a chance for the living to amend their lives, of which the dead do not have such a privilege anymore, as Ecclesiastes 9:5, let us understand that death is certain and man has a limited time here on earth to live, which is the reason we ought to live a good life, reason is because after now on earth, there is no time to amend or to prove our righteousness in order to please God; rather, after death comes judgment.
Also within Hebrew reminded us that life is appointed for man to die once, which is followed with judgment, entailing us that no one exempted that death certain, and also judgment is certain, implying that no one is exempted also, and is good we remain ever ready for God because man can't tell when it will be his day to die, which is followed up with divine judgment, hence the death is what is really supposed to motivate us towards righteousness that God has made us to be ahead of the judgment day, as Hebrew 9:27 reminded us what our Bible said.
Through Ephesians 2:10, it reminded us that whatever is happening, God knows because he has a purpose for every man on earth, but it is now our duty to do the right thing and align ourselves towards accomplishing the work of God, of which we are reminded to trust our father and please his heart desires, which is part of the reason we are here on earth to do. So brethren, let's be of the word and do the needful within God's plan.
● We are expected to be knowledgeable with the word of God in building our faith, as stated in John 14:29.
● We expected to live a life of humility and recognize God's existence as stated in Proverbs 16:9.
● We are expected to be of a life aligned with God's purpose, as life is short, as stated in Ecclesiastes 9:5.
● We ought to be ever prepared for judgment, of which death is certain, as stated in Hebrews 9:27.
● We are expected of good work, which is God's heart desire, as it is stated in Ephesians 2:10.
