RE: Building a RepRack system for my 3D printing filament

That's really cool. I've looked into 3D printers over the last few years, but I've never bought one, or had a go of one.
The main thing I'd want it for is model making because a channel I follow can make the majority of the building, or spaceship, but then they use their 3D printer for smaller detailed greebles. I use Blender, so would potentially be able to model my own specific stuff, if I couldn't find assets online.
Having the option would be good, and it's another tool. Also, kit-bashing can be fairly pricey, so it would be worth it.

check out Tinkercad, it's a free website where you can make models fairly easily. You can't really make complex designs, but you can experiment and see what you can build with primatives. Then I'd move to Fusion360 from there if you find it is something you want to do.
Sick, never heard of Tinkercad, I'll check it out now.
I use polymer clay to sculpt aliens/ creatures from the stories I write, so I can have a physical thing to look at while describing them, which has helped. But, more complex mechanical stuff can't really look good with clay so I tend to use rubbish - well interesting-looking rubbish - to make ships and stuff. I do want to go more into digital modeling. My friend has been teaching me blender, which has been good to ask questions and wrap my head around it.
