What Its Like Building in the Bear Market
Working on anything in crypto - or even investing in it, for that matter - means living in a world that moves at 1000x speed. The outside world moves so slowly compared to crypto.
The most relevant example of this is what is happening with FTX right now. It's been 8 days since the news broke... It doesn't feel like 1 week. It feels like 1 month.. The bear market is hard. The crypto winter is cold.

- Adrian: Impatient and overambitious, drive 30person team crazy, there’s always too much to do - Learn to know what not to do, what to put in the backburner
- The bears allow the team to focus on things cause the noise is quieter. The lack of opportunities in the bears allows to make decisions easierly
- Joab: Setting an ambitious yearly roadmap, things can get delayed a lot, the bears mold your roadmap so stay realistic
- Learn to focus your team on the important things, compartmentalize the job. Identify your team members strengths and weaknesses as well as the leaders within the team
- Learn to delegate
- Khal: Biggest lesson in 2022, delegate more things, bring more people into what khal would be spearheading himself
- Finding self directed people who don’t need a green light for everything, or need direction/clear guidance = they become a burden
- Find people who are ambitiously self directed who buy in your vision, and then run with it - a talent that is inherent, not taught - forgive rather than permission
