New Features Are Being Tested Every Day in the Private Labs

Hi, everyone! If you've been here for a while, you know we used to have a public labs domain for testing new features and reporting bugs. However, it wasn't as effective as we wanted it to be. Now, we have a select group of testers on a private labs domain.

• Testing now occurs in a private labs environment
• Different features are tested for varying lengths of time before going to production
• A small group of testers uses the features in the private labs
• Access to labs could become a premium feature in the future

When we used the public labs, issues arose, such as people reporting bugs in production that were already fixed in labs or sharing labs links with individuals who only used production. Overall, it wasn’t a good user experience and didn’t provide us with enough effective information to justify the process or speed things up.

Now, every new feature is tested in labs for a period, which could be days or weeks depending on the complexity of the features and the bugs that need to be resolved. Once the small group of testers has provided feedback and the issues have been addressed, we move to production to test live with the entire community.

As we grow, we will need more testers. Users will be able to sign up to be testers, or we may consider making access to labs a premium feature.

Even after features are live, we continue to test them for a while, so please provide us with feedback whenever you see an update!
