Political Memecoins: Trendy or Timeless?
Hey, everyone! Politics are the source of many memes. The political memecoins genre surged and some people say it's dying already, but is it? Some coins maybe, but as per our conversation with John, this is just starting.
In this clip:
- Memecoins are born from a gamble mindset
- Some narratives are about having fun in the moment
- Memecoins tied to non-temporary events can last longer
- Politics have a lot of memeable situations
Memecoins are all about the thrill, drawing in people who love to take risks. Most are based on short-lived jokes or trends, making them fun but fleeting.
The ones that stick around usually tie into ongoing events or popular themes. When there’s a bigger story behind them, they stay relevant longer.
Politics is packed with meme-worthy moments, making it the source of plenty of memecoins that come and go, while some, like 1776, are timeless. It depends on the original concept and the community to take a meme and make it valuable and long lasting.

Hey, @khaleelkazi, the topic is hot but can't watch the video...
Attractive display. Good afternoon and best wishes.
I think most of these meme coins will fail once the person leaves office
That may be true, but in the case of anything related to Donald Trump that still gives HODLers and stackers of related memecoins 4+ years of growth. Given who he is, the related memecoins may do well for even longer. For other political figures, the shelf life is short for their memecoins.
Doland Tremp is a meme coin based on Donald Trump.

For at least the next 4 years, we can expect memcoins not only related to Donald Trump but also members of the Trump 47/48 administration. Then there is Elon Musk and all the memecoins related to him; he's in his own category.
Could any other presidential administration make that claim (had cryptocurrency existed in those days)? Probably those of Bill Clinton, and-- oddly enough-- that of Jimmy Carter (courtesy of his wild child brother Billy Carter).
