The Spectrum of Decentralization
I have always firmly believed that everything lives on a spectrum of centralization and decentralization. In this clip, I talk about this history of Apple vs. Microsoft and how centralization and decentralization both have a place in terms of providing value to any given platform.
One of the most popular debates in the world is IPhone vs Android. But if you think about it, the debate is really centralized vs decentralized. Closed source vs open source.
Android offers more freedom when it comes to picking softwares and phone models where IPhone users don't have very much choice when deciding between these things. The UX is simplified by lack of choice.
It's ironic to think that WEB3 has created a space that promotes the concept and freedom of decentralization and yet one of the most successful companies in the world, Apple, is one of the most centralized companies out there and most people just beat their drums about why centralization is bad in all cases all the time.
Decentralization is great in terms of freedom, while centralization is great in terms of ease of use. It's a lot easier to use a bank account in comparison to sing Bitcoin. The downfall is with a bank account you don't technically own your money, the bank does.
In this clip, I talk about this spectrum and centralization vs. decentralization. I also talk about why I believe there is a necessary combination of the two to create great products.

That's a right point you made there because the two definitely have a different role they play

Each has their own strengths and weaknesses!

And this is probably why I didn't want to have an iPhone.

Would be interesting to read such books on Steve Jobs, I didn't think there would be biography on how he came about with Apple. Anyways I see you're pro-iPhone. This discussion is one of the world's most relevant tech debate ever.

Haha yeah I highly recommend the book about Steve Jobs. It's super interesting - by Walter Isaacson

That's the hardest thing is to balance it. You have to create the middle and hope it works. It can take some adjustments !

Well sir,
I'm a Samsung user for years and years and I wouldn't trade it for an iPhone ever. IPhone makes everything so damn complicated and exclusive, you have to buy everything from them.
I find android to be more easy going. I don't know about older versions but I doubt there are many still using old versions of android
What I like about iPhone is the quality materials they use, no one can beat that. In terms of use I prefer my Samsung and android over everything.
Regarding the parallel with banking systems it depends a lot on where you live. In my country is sometimes easier to use Bitcoin or Hive than a regular bank.
I forgot to mention Mitch has great hair ;).

That's the apple cult, my friend! It's a blessing and a curse to be honest.
Interesting that you prefer Android. I know many who do but I have both Android and iPhone that I use for testing our technology and I just love iPhone lol
The beauty of crypto! I hope that it continues to get easier and easier to use crypto so you can just avoid those corrupt banks altogether

Man thanks to LeoFinance and Hive I've managed to stay away from regular banks and fixed income for close to two years. I have only been to the bank last week to deposit some cash so I could buy crypto. After the LUNA crash I felt empty...
