Memecoins as a Bridge for Normies Entering the Crypto Space
Hey, everyone! Today, we get to know a little more about John and his project on Solana, 1776, as well as his thoughts on memecoins and the role of the crypto community in achieving the mass adoption of crypto.
In this clip:
- 1776, a project about freedom, free speech, and the values of the crypto community
- Projects must take care of the people who believe in them
- A good experience for newcomers
- Memecoins as an entry point for normies
John launched the project 1776 as a nod to freedom, free speech, and other values of the crypto community that people can relate to.
With memecoins, when people come into the space, they’re often attracted to the narratives, the communities, and how relatable or funny they are. It’s a different market from coins like BTC or ETH.
The people already in the crypto space have the responsibility of taking care of newcomers and protecting what they invest in our projects, so they have a good experience. This will help bring in more people and keep them here, making mass adoption possible.
Listen to more of Johnfrom1776's thoughts in this clip.

I had previously done a proposal to source revenue for HIVE through memes on Solana and to bridge a user base in from there. It didn't get approved but I went forward with my plan and launched $ZENA 7 days ago. https://zena.fun/
Slow and steady so far and at $51,000 in market cap.
I think the bridge has certainly been memes and we see with DOGE it has an extreme amount of power all over the globe.
This is very analogous to sports mascots. There is no little animal to get behind for something like EOS.
Never understood the meme coins. But after listening to your chain chatters I can see that there are really dedicated people out their wanting to build their meme communities.
Good post, do you know any reliable meme community. Most are not very reliable you know...
