@abh12345 posts LeoFinance Weekly Engagement statistics. The leaderboard uses a few different metrics to track engagement on LeoFinance and LeoMobile. Most weeks, I rank somewhere in the 20-40 range.

@taskmaster4450 is frequently in the top 3. There are others out there like @finguru @jfang003, @forexbrokr, @nialon11 and many more that rank super high every week.

With the new LeoAds mechanic going into effect, our focus as a community should turn back into the community. We need to focus on:

  1. Great, evergreen content that drives traffic for years on end
  2. Great engagement which increases ad views short-term and adds significant juice in the long-term
  3. Community onboarding
  4. External onboarding

Focusing On Engagement

As a community on LeoFinance we need to focus more on engagement on the site and build what we've got. As discussed in that @leofinance post, the average monthly ad revenue is about $4,000 which puts the average APY at 4-10% for LEO POWER holders (add in the 18-20% from curation rewards and you've got nearly 30% APY for staking LEO as LEO POWER which is pretty exciting).

As many said in their comments and tweets responding to that post, this is a self-fulfilling cycle:

  1. LEO POWER hodlers earn more APY when people engage more and drive traffic to leofinance.io
  2. As more engagement happens on leofinance.io, LEO POWER holders earn more
  3. LEO POWER holders are incentivized to use their LEO POWER to spur engagement and reward good authors
  4. LEO POWER holders earn more rewards as their upvotes start driving more traffic and engagement
  5. 🔁

Engaging on LeoFinance

My engagement can be relatively spotty. I get caught up in development and sometimes forget to be active around here.

I've wanted to change this for a while. I do have spare time in between calls and dev meetings and I really believe that with the expanded LeoTeam, I have a greater ability today to be more engaged with everyone.

I also highly value the feedback I see on posts and comments that everyone makes on LeoFinance. Usually, I'm lurking around the site - reading almost every post and most of the comments related to LeoFinance and some of the projects I follow like Thorchain and Terra.

Instead of just lurking, I'm going to do my part and spur more engagement on the site.

As a LEO POWER hodler, I want to see more traffic and more engagement which = more ad revenue. That means more $$ in my pocket every single month as I see LEO POWER added to my balance from the ad revenue.

So following the metrics that @abh12345 uses, I'm going to engage more on LeoFinance.io. This means:

  1. Replying to everyone who comments on my posts
  2. Commenting on posts I read on LeoFinance
  3. Curating more content

Action speaks more my friend don't you think? The finish line is in few days but then, the race to remain at the top begins.. that is the race I am concerned about. Remember with speed, Overtaking is allowed but overspeed can leaf to crash but with persistent and endurance, the finish line is a sure point... my friend, start your engine and let's race the engagement contest to the finish line

The fantastic challenge to bring more engagement on Leo and it's going to be interesting to see how things would be unfolded in the next stats report by Asher.
Also, for ad revenue, this surely brings a solid reason to hold more leo power. I am pretty close to reaching 5k LP and probably I will be able to make it 5k in the next few weeks and 10k by end of the year 2022.

I think that the numbers for this weeks challenge are going to blow last weeks numbers out of the water.

Some of those top boys are going to fight hard to get those 100 LEO. It's the principle of the thing.

There was a time I was all out to compete with Taskmaster4450. His fingers are something else. maybe he has a cub that helps him do the engagements.

I'll have to try a bit harder to get the recognition and correct spelling that my hard work deserves. :D

On the plus side it's great company to be keeping with and i will give you a good run for your money this week.

That's a valuable 100 LEO that would look much better in my wallet than it does in yours and while i don't have 50 hours a day necessary to beat those top two i can still try to get into that coveted third position.

I also think that we can get that ad revenue up by a lot over the next twelve months with a little bit of community effort and good practices.

A little goes a long way in this regards and a few of us are very motivated to make it happen. Would we be able to get the monthly ad reports back again as they were very interesting to see the effect that our efforts were having on the platform?

I don't think that we will see it happen that suddenly but the target should definitely be 10k per month by the summertime.

We can bring a lot more traffic in with a few tweaks and a lot of people are already making those moves happen.

It's a new chapter in the game.

Sure. The progress is what's is important. In as much as we have an additional value each day, then, fine. With the #LeoGrowth initiative which will bring new users closer to LeoFinance to consume and create their blogs, we'll see the numbers move forward.

I can see it growing steadily over the next year.

The plan is solid, the community are fired up for it and the leo team has been rolling out some great developments.

With the new onboarding system and then project blank landing at some stage the "numbers go up," should apply here too and we see it become a real hub for crypto users across the web.

If the ad revenue skyrockets up to 20 or 30k a month then token prices will follow with people chasing the high apr and that would lead to more people noticing and getting involved.

It could become a massive positive cycle.

I didn't even remember ProjectBlank and how it profiles to quadruple LeoFinance engagement. That'll be a big game changer.

If we finally reach this level, then LEO Power APY would have surpassed my predicted 40%.

Definitely a good way to start...
I have a proposal, will send it to you on discord. Part of my mission is to onboard many through the LeoFinance.
Already have over 30 persons waiting to be onboarded. As I don't have huge HP to help them all start up, I would be requiring some assistance in the process.
Will send you the detailed proposal of how I intend to help them all through until they find their footing.
I just need the support of the LeoFinance community since your goal aligns with mine.

Bet, always like a little friendly challenge with some skin in the game lol This weekly report always gets me fired up and I love it! Keeps you on track, gives you an idea if you need to kick yourself in the butt etc.

Another thing I've been doing is asking somewhat of an open ended question at the end of my posts that relates to what was just talked about to try and get people to engage a little more that way.

This is an area I really need to work on also. It feels like this week will see a big uptick in activity, with everyone trying to take 100 LEO off you - could be expensive for you.

One question I do have @khaleelkazi, is all the Ad revenue since the burns stopped just sitting there now in a wallet somewhere? When this starts (wen?) will there be a huge first payout, kind of like back pay where the last many months of Ad revenue get all distributed at once?

Task is an absolute machine! I will be surprised if you can beat him and if anyone else can beat you if you beat him, wow! that's another whole new level of engagement.

Even when I was smashing out responses and commenting I wasn't able to move higher than top 10. But then that takes time away from research and interviews so content wasn't as great. It is a fine line but well worth the additional traffic

@abh12345 can certainly answer your question, but as I see the engagement league, every meaningful comment counts. Nowadays I am in or around the top 10-20 of the engagement league. Not the LeoFinance, but the Hive engagement league.

But yeah, it's a superb way to boost the overall engagement. On top of the potential upvotes you get on your comments, you have a chance of grabbing an extra 100 juicy LEO's for just being active and making some comments here and there.

That is very true. It comes down to how active you are, how lucky you are and how much effort you put it.

I mean, you can make 100 comments without getting a single upvote if you are unlucky or just spam crappy comments.

On the other hand, you could potentially be rewarded more from one single comment than you've earned from your 5 latests posts as well.

But I think we also should keep in mind that a large part of the value of engagement is that it must add value to the overall content stream. There's a big difference between actually engaging relevantly with the content of a post, and just shooting for making a large number of meaningless comments.

As I recall, though, Asher's metrics have some kind of countermeasure to minimize the whole "Nice post!" syndrome.
