Deep Dive on Thorchain's TCY - Economics, Launch Date and Price Predictions
In this episode of LEO's Chain Chatter Podcast, I am joined by Aaluxx from the Maya Protocol team. ICYMI: Aaluxx is spearheading TCY and the proposal to save Thorchain from the ThorFi meltdown that happened around February of 2025.
The meltdown has taken RUNE from $6 to $1 in price. The rest of the market sank and that led to a downward spiral of the RUNE price which lead to a spiral on the ThorFi lending protocol.
Thorchain is far from dead. The protocol continues to process more swaps than many of the top DeFi protocols with 10x its market cap.
Thorchain volumes are growing despite all of this happening. TCY is a new token that will be claim dropped to ThorFi-impacted users on May 5th of 2025.
With less than 2 weeks away from the TCY launch, Aaluxx sat down with me to do a deep dive on TCY, what will happen to Thorchain and all the juicy alpha regarding the TCY launch date.

The Tokenomics are strong and the value prop of earning 10% in fees in perpetuity is also great
