A Merry Christmas to all my sweet Hive family and friends

Well, we didn’t have a traditional Christmas tree this year as my regular known outlets had only a fraction of the tree supply than they originally ordered. The price was marked up 20% more than last year but that did not stop the frenzied buyers that scooped up the store’s entire shipment within a day.

Once again, another reminder of the effects of the Covid restrictions and judging from the news reports another looming lock down be imposed on the 26th of December with New Year’s already effectively cancelled. 😒

I can try to hang my new silver vintage galleon decoration on next year’s tree.

What was more important is to express my faith in putting out my favorite hand painted Nativity scene. I've had this set for over 15 years.

I understand it may seem odd that a Goth person being a member of a Fellowship Baptist church seem almost irreconcilable, but we do exist as a community. Their mission statement is clear on their front page of Christian Goth

I am dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ, who brought me out of the darkness and into His light, and Who is the example of someone who wasn't afraid to hang out with society's "undesirables" in order to show them The Way, The Truth, and The Life.

Who would think this baby boy born of a Virgin woman of a poor family, grows up and proves to be the Son of God and to die on the cross, he was resurrected and my sins were paid in full. I am so undeserving of it, but the voice in my heart whispers, “just accept the gift.”

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. ~ Ephesians 2:8,9

The Christmas message is God’s gift of Redemption and thus has begun a process of sanctification (A lifetime Work in progress) and a restored relationship with God, my reason for the season.

Since then, my walk hasn’t been always easy or without issues. But I know he is present, willing to keep short accounts and that I trust this Messiah who came down from heaven to be born a baby in Bethlehem.

I noticed there are less Christmas lights out in my neighborhood than in previous years and may likely again be attributed to the downstream effects of Government imposed mandates. However, the Christmas message is alive and never fails to give me a sense of hope no matter the situation or circumstance.
