--- As far as I can tell from my time on this planet, there are just a few things that seem to keep most people from achieving/experiencing freedom, joy, and an easeful & magical life: * Not taking responsibility for one's experience * Un-integrated trauma patterns * Projecting/Imagining things about others and the outside world Many workshops I've been to over the years have done some variation on the practice of **I Observe // I Imagine**, where everyone takes turns sharing things they observe (facial expressions, tone of voice, closeness or distance of people, appearances, etc), and then sharing what they imagine about what that means. For example, when we see someone making a face of some kind, all that we actually observe is the changes in their face: lips up, lips down, redness around eyes, etc etc. Anything we may think/say about their emotions or their experience are 100% made up stories in our own minds. The same is true of **every other observation we make**. Not only is the human brain incapable of observing *objective reality*, due to our limited sensory organs, but our subconscious mind immediately starts filtering, pattern-matching, and applying our own experiences & beliefs to what we see. By the time we have a conscious thought about it, we've generally moved well into the realm of fiction.
