NeedleWorkMonday || TAPETE OVALADO A CROCHET ☕
🎵🎶 "Me gusta el olor que tiene la mañana,
me gusta el primer traguito de café" 🎵🎶
Blessed needle Monday, my dear needleWorkers. Today I am happy to start a new week by posting one of my most recent crochet projects. It's always good to start the week with the best attitude and, of course, start the day with a good coffee ☕ to recharge our batteries and go ahead with our work.
El proyecto que les comparto el día de hoy está relacionado, de alguna manera, con el café. Se trata de un nuevo tapete para mi cocina. En esta oportunidad se trata de un tapete ovalado para colocar las tazas y la jarrita del café.
The aroma of coffee awakens my senses and fills me with energy, that's why I always enjoy a cup of coffee before starting my work day.
The project I am sharing with you today is somehow related to coffee. It is a new rug for my kitchen. This time it is an oval mat to place the cups and the coffee mug.
Para la parte externa del tejido utilicé hilo de nylon grueso en color marrón. puesto que considero que este color se ajusta bastante bien al tema del café y las tazas.
For this mat I decided to use a thick cotton cord to place inside the fabric to give more firmness to the mat, since on top of it I am going to place a handmade mug and cups to serve the coffee.
For the outside of the fabric I used thick nylon thread in brown color, since I consider that this color fits quite well with the theme of coffee and cups.
Los patrones ovalados siempre han representado un reto para mí; por ello esta vez me ayudé con algunos marcadores de tejido para evitar perder la secuencia de los aumentos.
I decided on an oval placemat because I've been wanting to make an oval tablecloth for my dining table for a long time, so I thought I'd try the pattern on a small placemat and then knit a larger project, as is the case with the tablecloth.
Oval patterns have always been a challenge for me, so this time I helped myself with some knitting markers to avoid losing the sequence of the increases.
I find this technique of using a cord inside the fabric ideal for making table mats and placemats. It is very similar to the Tapestry crochet technique, except that in this case no figure is formed and the whole project is of a single color. However, I would love to knit an oval rug with several colors of yarn as is done with tapestry crochet.
I found the final result to be simple and beautiful. I already have where to place my handmade cups to enjoy an afternoon of coffee with cookies in the company of my mother and my children. I hope you liked my project this Monday, Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.

I love drinking coffee, especially in the morning because it gives me more energy to be alert in doing my work. The crochet you did for the three cups looks awesome.
