Les confieso que he pasado horas viajando a través de libros, historias, Google maps y cualquier otro medio que me permita conocer algún sitio del mundo, es una gran sensación de alegría y deseo que algún día estas experiencias se vuelvan reales, poder viajar por todo el mundo e ir guardando en mi memoria gratos momentos de todos los lugares visitados; en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes y mostrarles gran parte de la Cueva del Guácharo, un esplendido espacio turístico del estado Monagas, ubicado en el municipio Caripe.

I confess that I have spent hours traveling through books, stories, Google maps and any other means that allows me to know any place in the world, it is a great feeling of joy and I wish that someday these experiences become real, to travel around the world and keep in my memory pleasant moments of all the places visited; this time I want to share with you and show you much of the Cueva del Guácharo, a splendid tourist area of the state of Monagas, located in the municipality Caripe.

A pesar de vivir a pocas horas de este hermoso parque turístico lo he visitado algunas veces, para llegar hasta el municipio tardo aproximadamente dos horas y media en carretera, cabe destacar que esta es una zona inclinada con pendientes montañosas, la escalada se realiza a través de una carretera muy angosta de forma circular, con pocas barreras de seguridad, en el camino encontraras muchos letreros de señalizacion que indican peligro, solicitando reducir la velocidad.

Despite living a few hours away from this beautiful tourist park I have visited it a few times, to get to the town it takes about two and a half hours by road, it should be noted that this is a steep area with mountainous slopes, the climb is done through a very narrow circular road, with few safety barriers, on the road you will find many signs indicating danger, requesting to reduce speed.

Otro dato que debes saber antes de visitar Caripe, es llevar abrigo o suéter para cubrirte del frió, sobre todo en la temporada de invierno, para evitar cualquier resfriado, cabe destacar que el clima no alcanza temperaturas bajo cero, solo se mantiene tropical con suave brisa, que le da al lugar un ambiente fresco y cálido ideal para la siembra de hortalizas, frutas, verduras y otros alimentos que pueden cultivarse en esta zona.

Another thing you should know before visiting Caripe, is to bring a coat or sweater to cover yourself from the cold, especially in the winter season, to avoid any cold, it should be noted that the climate does not reach temperatures below zero, only remains tropical with gentle breezes, which gives the place a cool and warm environment ideal for growing vegetables, fruits, vegetables and other foods that can be grown in this area.

Antes de llegar al anhelado sitio, nos detuvimos por un rato, el carro se recalentó, estábamos en un lugar un poco alejado de la ciudad, solo veíamos bosques y montañas a lo lejos pudimos visualizar una cabaña, llegamos al sitio e inmediatamente una señora nos ofreció suficiente agua que necesitábamos para agregarle al vehículo, realizamos algunos ajustes y continuamos el camino.

Before reaching the desired site, we stopped for a while, the car overheated, we were in a place a little far from the city, we only saw forests and mountains in the distance we could see a cabin, we arrived at the site and immediately a lady offered us enough water we needed to add to the vehicle, we made some adjustments and continued on the road.

Llegamos a la Cueva el Guácharo, también conocida como monumento natural Alejandro de Humboldt, en honor al geografo Alemán quien dio a conocer la cueva durante el siglo XVIII, después de realizar una serie de exploraciones haciendo mención del maravilloso descubrimiento, considerado monumento natural y santuario del ave nocturna el Guácharo.

We arrive at the Guácharo Cave, also known as Alejandro de Humboldt Natural Monument, in honor of the German geographer who made the cave known during the 18th century, after making a series of explorations mentioning the marvelous discovery, considered a natural monument and sanctuary of the Guácharo night bird.

Para ingresar a la cueva debes comprar una entrada sumamente económica y solicitar un par de botas para tu seguridad, esperar que sea indicado un guía turístico que dirige la ruta y reseña parte de la historia y descubrimiento de la cueva, los animales que en ella vive y señalar el camino adecuado para no caer en el lodo, el guía la ilumina con una pequeña lampara mostrando la ruta a seguir.

La cueva por dentro es muy oscura, húmeda y fácil de resbalar las paredes son cubiertas por rocas en forma de caída con grandes picos inclinados, de vez en cuando sientes caer goteras por todas partes y sientes que alrededor hay muchos ojos mirándote y efectivamente es así, toda la cueva esta cubierta por estas aves, que emiten un sonido peculiar, también encontraras roedores, murciélagos, mariposas y otros animales nocturnos.

The cave inside is very dark, humid and easy to slip, the walls are covered by rocks in the shape of a fall with large inclined peaks, from time to time you can feel the dripping everywhere and you feel that there are many eyes looking at you and indeed it is so, the whole cave is covered by these birds, which emit a peculiar sound, you will also find rodents, bats, butterflies and other nocturnal animals.

El guía hizo del recorrido un momento muy agradable, el señor Andres con aproximadamente 65 años de edad, lleva mucho tiempo al servicio de este parque, nos contó toda su experiencia y lo maravilloso que ha sido para el, trabajar en este lugar, entre risas y anécdotas dimos un paseo mas tranquilo de lo que esperaba, al principio no quería entrar sentí algo de temor, no había de que preocuparse disfrute todo el recorrido.

The guide made the tour a very pleasant moment, Mr. Andres with approximately 65 years of age, has been serving this park for a long time, he told us all his experience and how wonderful it has been for him, working in this place, between laughter and anecdotes we took a quieter ride than I expected, at first I did not want to enter I felt some fear, there was nothing to worry about enjoy the whole tour.

Después de salir de la caverna, no puedes dejar de probar las exquisitas fresas con crema, turrones y los dulces de leche que forman parte de la tradición de Caripe, hay mucha variedad y los puedes encontrar en la cantina mas cercana, aprovechamos de dar un recorrido por el centro de la ciudad y degustar el surtido sabor de fresas en cremas, son mi favoritas no podía comer solo una.

After leaving the cave, you can not miss the delicious strawberries with cream, nougat and milk sweets that are part of the tradition of Caripe, there is a lot of variety and you can find them in the nearest canteen, we took a tour of the center of town and taste the assorted flavor of strawberries in creams, they are my favorite, I could not eat just one.

Transcurridas las 6 estaba a punto de oscurecer pensamos quedarnos en un hotel porque las cabañas son un poco mas costosa, solo pudimos visualizar dos de ellos en el lugar donde estábamos, pero no pudimos concretar el hospedaje se nos presentaron inconvenientes con el pago, no había cambio para cancelar en divisa, por lo tanto tuvimos que regresar un poco tarde. La pasamos genial en cualquier otro momento regresamos para ir a visitar la Paila, es otro atractivo turístico de Caripe, nos seguimos leyendo deseo salud y bendiciones para ti!
