Our First Trip Castle and Museum in Slovakia Europa: Exploring Svätý Anton Manor House.
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting in this community. And I’m so excited to share our first travel experience here in Slovakia. February 21 marks our second anniversary of living in this beautiful country!
I am originally from the Philippines, where I enjoy tropical weather, mountains, stunning landscapes and beaches. My husband always says I am so lucky because I am already living in paradise and why I want to stay here in Slovakia. And my answer is because we're married. We should be together as a family. Switching from sunny weather to winter it's so different. Until now I get depressed especially when winter is coming. But it's ok, life must go on and we have our journey to stay here in Slovakia. If we all hear Europe has lots of history they can offer to us. Here in Slovakia it is still the same. Lots of castles, amazing history and breathtaking architecture.
For our first trip, we visited The Svätý Anton Manor House. It's a two hour drive going to our destination. So our girl was just singing in the car. She’s excited for her first trip. And of course must never forget the food.
The Svätý Anton Manor House also known as Antol Manor House or Koháriovský Manor House. It is located in the village of Svätý Anton, near Banská Štiavnica, in the Central Slovakia Region. This late Baroque-Classicist manor house is well-preserved and surrounded by a beautiful English park.
Before going inside the Manor, we took some time to explore the park. The cold weather, we just enjoyed walking around and taking in the breathtaking scenery. And I took photos for our memories to keep. The manor’s exterior was stunning, with its beautiful architecture and nature was perfect.
My husband bought tickets so we could explore the interior of the castle. Iit was even colder inside. And unfortunately, the tour guide didn’t speak English. We let the other visitor go first because my husband will translate to us about the tour. The tour takes so long and my daughter gets bored. We just told her their amazing hunting exhibition and animals later. And she was thrilled when she heard about it. Because she loves animals.
One of the highlights was the hunting exhibition. Aya became really excited even though the animal collection was taxidermied. But it looks so real. We're happy that our daughter is happy.
The breathtaking architecture, rich in history, preserving the interiors will make Slovakian to be proud of. It's for their future generation to see and appreciate their country's gems.
Overall, it was an unforgettable first trip experience. Enjoying quality time together.

Very nice post, Katherine, and welcome on this community 😁
I totally understand your difficulty in living in a colder place, I live on the Mediterranean Sea and I'm also considering to move abroad, but sunlight is something really important for my body and my mental health 🙃 but of course, you're living in a very nice country, I visited that region of Europe and I was impressed by the elegance, the care and the cleanliness of those cities :)
I will keep following your works, see you soon!
@alecaltab Thank you for your understanding. Slovakia is beautiful and other Europe countries we travel together. Still adjusting from this weather but its ok.
