APPICS goes mainnet, making the best Xmas gift to its community!

I am here this morning to share my excitement for APPICS app coming back with its mainnet - finally available for everyone!

What is APPICS?

APPICS is a reward-based social media app that introduces a new ecosystem which merges lifestyle, passion and user-generated income inside a single mobile application. Unlike any other popular social media site, where 100% of the platform’s value and revenue goes to the corporate shareholders, APPICS enables all users to earn a fair share of the overall revenue, as well as creative influence within the network, through our reward-token "APX".
Think of this app as an alternative blockchain 'instagram-like' social media platform, that rewards its users with crypto. More specifically APX

Appics was formely using the steem platform and it has now moved on to the TELOS blockchain. If you were using APPICS in the past, then you can download the new app and swap your previously earned tokens, into tokens in the app - after you finish the set up.

My experience joining the mainnet on IOS
I am using the IOS app, and I was in the testnet for some time now.
Yesterday I received a message in the TestFlight that I should update the app, I did - and here I am!
You need to create a new account
Don't be confused if your credentials do not work - you will need to create a new account
If the phone you entered is not accepted, dont mind that
You will be asked for a mobile phone verification. I gave my phone, received a code and an error message - I could not go over it - but when I exited, I could log in with the new credentials I used.
Create a new username
You will be asked to create a new username. Use what you are known with, or select a new one! Anything will do. I used my katerinaramm username :)
You will see some users and may find some old friends, like I did :)
Fix your profile
You will be asked to provide a profile photo, a site link, your interests and a short bio
Create a TELOS wallet
Click on the bottom right symbol to create a TELOS wallet
Make sure you are prepared to save & back up your wallet info! DONT LOOSE that because it can never be recovered
Import your previous tokens
Go to your profile (you will see your wallet already connected and click on TokenSwap. You will need your steem username and active key to be able to bring your tokens over. It can require up to 3 days.
Post and comment
I was able to post and comment, as well as to follow and be followed but not yet to upvote/support. You can find someone to delegate some APX or just wait till your own tokens come back home :)
My opinion about the App
I dont see many changes, it runs smoothly and I guess it's been well tested by the ambassadors and the group of testers.
I think very highly of the app and I admire the Team for the clean and stable steps forward.
I saw on their website that .. they are preparing something .. NFT related/

Haha. I haven't configured the tokenswap, maybe that's it.
I have created a Steemiy account in the past, but never really used it. When I try to connect it I get an error Account not found in tokenswap.

So it is an app derived from Steemit or why do we need to link to any steem account and keys? I guess now is run on a different blockchain right...?

You only need to connect your steem if you used the app in the past and you have their token (apx) in steem engine. If you did not use the app, you don’t need to connect your steem!
I had two accounts on Appics through Steemit. Are you aware of the possibility of doing token swap from two Steem accounts to one Appics account? Because there is no option of creating teo Appics account with one phone number. Thank you!
This is a great question! I’ll try to find an answer for you, if not, the ultimate solution would be to create the second account using a friends phone number and move your Apx to the one you will use. (If you will not keep both)

Apps like this will bring more people to the blockchains. I am unfamiliar with Telos, being on Hive I do not know very much about Steem.
I know that Hive is a Fork of Steem but I do not know much else.
I agree, there will be many more options in the near future .. Imagine how facebook & other apps were in the beginning, people were very hesitant at first (I know that I was :))
This dApp is about photography/videography, for sure a great user base!

Χρόνια Πολλά! Όχι, δε χάνεις τα τοκενς που είχες. Όμως πρέπει να κάνεις καινούριο λογαριασμό και αν είχες apx από πριν, να συνδέσεις το παλιό steem λογαριασμό σου. Πες μου αν θέλεις να κάνω tutorial για να δεις η πες μου που έχεις απορία
Τα βήματα είναι:

Appics (at least for my experience) is very unstable. A lot of errors pops up, date of birth impossible to set and when you save the profile an error pops up about something wrong in date of birth Field (well.. Thank you)... Another problem (at least for my experience) is the description of the profile... Filling the Field and saving... The next time is still empty.
