Music Monday | I went back on vinyl this week

The December month to me usually isn't the most inspiring month of the year in terms of stuff to do. Sure, we have the holiday season and that is another diferent ballgame going from one social festivity to the next, but the beginning of the month...

Well, let's call it not that spectacular if you are not too fond of iceskating and world cup soccer matches. Time for something different

Instead in all of this we decided to turn back to music this month again. Making the piano ready to give it a spin, even though the last time of playing was months ago. And also put back the vinylplayer in a central location in the room in stead of having it next to the stuff to mix with. Since we put on a needle which makes DJing possible with it without messing up the record, it has been used for that and not really for record playing.

But there is nothing better for the full listening experience that getting vinyl, and just listening to the whole record. Not shuffling through the spotify, but just enjoying the record as it's whole.

Rival Consoles - Recovery

An older record from Rival Consoles but not anything less relevant. Since I was super siked to listen to the depth of this song in vinyl full blown over the speakers, but this is a later song on the album..the whole album building up to this song is actually how it is supposed to be.

With subtle changes, and layers I have never heard before while hearing the song so much..why is the density from listening a record on vinyl so different. Wow..

(And so many other pearls on this record I wasn't fully aware of. Why didn't I have this record earlier?)

Abstract Division - Nightfall

The combo of Paul Boex and Dave Miller strikes again on their new 'Midnight Ensemble' album. This album is one just to listen to and released this year and just super enjoyable to and see whatever they pop up with. With a bit lower on the BPM (which I enjoy way more honestly) this is a good one to just put on in the background while cooking (no joke) and feeling the time pass away!

Daft Punk - Doing it Right

I feel there is such a a dark vibe hanging over this song even though the initial listening sound is positive. To me this one is one for winter times and especially the ending when the synth pops over the vocals in the end..that is when the intensity rises and the song it at is at its strongest.

When I hear this song...I always have to think about driving away from the Alps and looking in the rear mirror and seeing the snowy mountains behind me. Even this is such a positive memory..the vibe man..the vibe

So yeah vinyl! While everyone is going so hard on their spotify year lists and songs they listened to a lot. We went back to the oldschool to have a piece of material in hand with artwork and something to hold on to. Where you have to make an effort to stand up and turn over the record, and maybe even change the record for the Bside to get all songs.

Music should be an effort every now and then.

That Daft Punk song is dope! It's one of the best tracks from Random Access Memories.

Exactly! The album on itself is a winner, but this one just has the best vibe in there. Vocals as a lead tone in a song...genius

Yeah. Even it's repetitive, it just can make you move.

I've never experienced vinyl, but I'm hoping soon I will. I believe there's something special in it like how I love reading traditional books rather than e-books.

Yeah I can imagine it is the sae kinds of thing. Although I love ebooks though but that has to do more with the weight of books while travelling haha
