Sunset at the temple where I feed stray cats, พระอาทิตย์ตกดินที่วัดยานนาวา

This is my entry for #thaiphotocontest109 on sunset photography hosted by @thaiteam. This past week I have been to feed those stray cats at the temple by the river, called Wat Yannawa, more frequently. This was because there were more cats turning up for feeding so I ran out of food before I met another group of stray cats. I wondered why almost ten cats just came out from nowhere to ask for some food. In the beginning I only had to feed about a dozen cats and kittens. Now I could hardly walk without tripping on one or two cats!

After feeding these cats, I would take a look at the Chao Phraya River. Things are slowly getting more lively at the pier by the river. More visitors came to the temple to make ‘dana’ (doing some good karma) by purchasing food pellets to feed the big fish at the pier. There were lazy pigeons there to mob up fallen fish food that was spilled during the feeding process. The temple discouraged people from feeding these pigeons as they made a mess of all the buildings with their droppings. But some children couldn’t help giving fish food to pigeons too.

Sometimes I would get lucky and got to see very nice sunset. It’s always magical for me seeing sunset by river with golden ray reflected on water. All the elements seemed to be awakened and joining in a cosmic dance to create invisible energy to heal the whole earth. The boats made strong ripples on the river but the river still maintained her powerful control of the shapeless torrents of water. Standing there I could feel tremendous power rising up from the earth and river. The sun and the wind joined in the cosmic display of natural beauty and energy.

The sunshine arrived on earth with tons of invisible cosmic particles and energy. A German healer used to teach me how to see the dancing energy of the sunshine in the morning hours. To my surprise, I found out that I had always been able to see these dancing or jumping particles in the sunshine years ago without knowing what these were suppose to be called. Sometimes I would just sit and watch these jumping tiny particles or energies while I was having coffee in the morning. It was a like playing a game of concentration, as I had to be still before I could zoom inside my eyes. It’s like swimming; once you could do it you could always get back to it again and again.

The energy of the morning sunshine is very different from the sunset. The energy of the sunset is more gentle and soothing while the morning sunshine could be full of healing vibes and strength for overcoming all enemies or obstacles. It really depends on how one invokes these strings of frequencies. It’s a bit like playing on different keys on a piano to create some music. I wish I had more idle time for proper meditation which could make a lot of difference to my precision on tapping on this morning cosmic energy. Life along the river still flows daily as time goes by; the ferries still transport commuters across the river and the merchant ships continue with their long journey up to the northern part of the country.

Observing people having a good time with their families and friends at the pier made me heart filled with joy. It’s so good to see people enjoying life after the hard lockdown. Luckily these people had the resilience to put up with difficulties and had the courage to find happiness in daily life. Hopefully, the sunset would be colourful and energising most of the time during the new year. Weary hearts and saddened spirits would be quickly healed and mended by looking at sunsets with orange and golden rays showering soothing cosmic energy to people around the river. That’s probably why more people come to visit this temple more often.

เราต้องหาเวลาไปที่วัดยานนาวา เพื่อไปเลี้ยงอาหารแมวบ่อยขึ้น เพราะว่าครั้งล่าสุดอาหารทีเราเอาไปเลี้ยงแมวหมด และไม่พอเลี้ยงแมวที่มาเจอ ภายหลังอีกหลายตัว เราก็ไม่รู้ว่าแมวโผล่มาได้อย่างไรอีกเกือบสิบตัว แถมมีลูกแมวด้วย ตัวมันผอมมากจนน่ากลัว เราก็ต้องไปซื้ออาหารแมวแบบซองเพิ่มขึ้นเพื่อให้ลูกแมวโดยเฉพาะ ตอนนี้พวกแมวมันมาวุ่นวายกับเรามาก ในเวลาที่เรากำลังเอาอาหารแมวออกมาจากถึง เราเดินลำบากมาก เพราะเราจะเหยียบแมว และสะดุดล้มพราะแมวมาพันขานั่นเอง มันทำให้เราทำงานไม่คล่องตัวนัก แต่ก็ต้องคอยระวังตัวเอง ไม่อยากเหยียบแมว

พอเลี้ยงอาหารแมวเสร็จ เราก็จะเดินไปดูแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา บางวันเราโชคดีไปถึงพอดีกับเวลาพระอาทิตย์ตกดินพอดี บางวันพระอาทิตย์ตกดินสวยงามมาก สีสดและดวงโตมาก แสงสีส้มสีทองส่องสว่างไปทั่วผืนนํ้า ช่างน่าดูมาก เราคิดว่าชพลังของแสงอาทิตย์มีพลังมาก รวมกับพลังจากแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาแล้ว แทบจะหาอะไรมาเทียบได้ยากมาก พลังของแม่น้ำเปีนพลังที่ยิ่งใหญ่มาก ชีวิตผู้คนก็ขึ้นอยู่กับพลังของแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาที่คอยเป็นผู้ให้มาโดยตลอด. คนเราขาดน้ำไม่ได้ แถมยังใช้แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาในด่าเดินทางด้วยเรือข้ามฟาก

ที่ท่าน้ำมีคนมาเที่ยวไหว้พระและทำบุญกันมากขึ้น ที่วัดมีบรรยากาศก็ต่างจากตอนล็อกดาวน์พึ่งเลิกใหม่ๆ คนพาครอบครัวมาทำบุญและซื้ออาหารเลี้ยงปลากัน มาเดินเล่นถ่ายรูปตอนพระอาทิตย์ตกดินมากขึ้น ทำให้ชีวิตริมแม่น้ำดูมีชีวิตชีวามากขึ้น ทางวัดก็ดูหายเงียบเหงา มีความรื่นเริงมากขึ้นด้วย เราก็ยืนดูแสงสีส้มทองของพระอาทิตย์สะท้อนที่ผิวน้ำ ธรรมชาติช่างมีพลังและความสวยงามอย่างประหลาด มิน่าเล่าผู้คนจึงมาที่ท่าน้ำนี้กันบ่อยๆ เรือที่แล่นผ่านไปมา ทำให้เกิดคลื่นเป็นริ้วบนสายน้ำ เรามาดูสายน้ำ พระอาทิตย์ตกดินที่ค่อยๆลับขอบฟ้า สะท้อนความเปลี่ยนแปลงมาที่ชีวิตจริงของมนุษย์ที่ต้องมีการหายไปลับขอบฟ้าสักวัน มีแต่ธรรมชาติ และพระอาทิตย์ที่ยังดำเนินต่อไปอีกนานแสนนาน
