Happy Caturday: one cat has gone missing for three days.
Life in the countryside seems to be much less stressful and time seems to be flowing by slowly. I could get more things done here and have some free time to write my post. I have to admit that my orange cats make me very relaxed and comfortable on a daily basis. Once the mind becomes relaxed and easygoing, there is more space and freedom in the brain. So, intuition and spontaneous actions could take place instead of intentionally forcing one’s actions. The vibes of surrounding nature such as trees and green fields contrasting against blue sky are just soothing and calming.
No wonder my orange cats are so healthy psychologically and well grounded physically by living in the countryside. I always look forwards to caressing and hugging my cats. As soon as the driver left the house, orange cats would emerge from their hiding and came up to greet me. This time, the bigger cat was missing, Kwan has been left on her own for three days. I was quite anxious for Joan’ safety as three dogs still kept running up and down the dirt road. But Joan should be able to look after himself as he has shown me that he was a good hunter.
I had to listen to Kwan’s complaints for ten minutes. She would follow me around like a puppy while I was unpacking. I had to give her some comforting snacks to calm her down. I shouted out for Joan but he was too far away to hear my voice. I prayed for his safety and his prompt return in the morning. But he didn’t appear in the morning and my gardener told me that he had been missing for two days already. So, Kwan has been meowing around the house for her brother. This caused me to anguish whether one day Joan would never return home like his mother (Jilly) and aunty (Rosy). There’s a wild streak in these orange cats, somehow they still yearned to roam freely like tigers in the jungle.
Kwan seems to be more domesticated and influenced by her childhood experiences. She was the youngest kitten which survived the vicous attack by a pack of four stray dogs. Her young brother was killed during the attack; so Kwan has always keep very close to an adult cat like her aunty and later on her brother. So, when she had noone to cling to for safety, Kwan kept very close to my feet. I almost stepped on her several times as she moved very quietly.
I went around shouting for Joan to return home as soon as possible. My heart sank the whole day as he didn’t turn up as I expected. It would be very sad indeed if one day Joan just never came back. I started thinking about adopting one kitten to keep Kwan company. But this was rather risky as she may not accept newcomer. So, I had to pray for the best possible outcome in the future. Meanwhile I just prayed for Joan’s speedy return. I just kept yelling his name in all directions. Kwan slept in the sitting room and came to sit on my bed in the morning. She meowed like a little kid as if she was telling me she’ s been so lonely.
The third day was quite a grind for me as I started thinking seriously where to find a kitten that would get on well with Kwan. I thought about having to prepare thjngs for a small kitten to use for a few months; I couldn’t decide whether to get a male kitten and what colours would be most suitable for Kwan. Then it dawned on me if Kwan didn’t accept the new kitten, what solution I needed to think about. In the end, I decided to just wait and see what the future would turn out. If it was meant to be either way, the guardians would give us some guidance.
Late at night while I was watching a video, I saw Joan walking gingerly in the hallway. Kwan was very happy to see her brother again and she kept sniffing him. I knew he was very hungry as he lost some weights. This meant that his hunting adventure wasn’t very successful; it had been raining during last week. I was so happy for his safe return. He almost finished all the food in his bowl. Joan seemed rather quiet and didn’t want to tell me about his adventure. He slept on the usual spot on the table with his sister.
The following day, two cats were very close together side by side. It was good to see the two orange cats still maintaining their bonds. Kwan really depends on her brother emotionally and it would be very hard for her to miss her brother for more than a week. I asked Joan not to disappear for more than two days and that he ought to come back every day after his hunting adventure. I was so grateful that Joan came back after missing for three days. But the future is uncertain as Joan seems to have caught the deep instinct of a big cat from his ancestors. I continue to pray for his safety and attachment to his sister and my presence.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.
One of my friend's cats have disappeared for a couple of days. I think they got accidentally locked in someone's shed. Very pleased Joan came back.
Oh! No! Yesterday my neighbour locked a dog inside her garden unintentionally. When she came back to her house she found this big dog running around her garden.
Two regular stray cats have been missing from the temple. I couldn’t find them for two weeks now. One cat was very skinny as he was stuck inside a pile of rubbles at the construction site; he was locked underneath for almost three weeks. The other was abandoned at the temple last year. They are both very nice and friendly. I am afraid for their safety.
Hope that cat got set free very soon.
They are too curious!
Joan is using up his 9 lives.. They are beautiful tiger cats //
Hopefully Joan won’t be too addicted to roaming freely in the countryside. But he’s a smart cat and very affectionate. I hope he won’t disappear like his aunty.
Oh wow I'm so relieved that he came back. I would be beside myself if I were in your shoes.
That boy better not worry you and the sister again!
I think I have to learn to let go and accept the uncertain future concerning Joan. He seems to be more independent as he grows older. It’s like he is confused between being domesticated cat and wild little tiger! But I hope things will turn out in the best possible way for Joan.

I worry when I don't see Dennis the Girl, the barn cat. She's by herself up there now, and there's a family of raccoons I suspect are bothering her. She is what is known as a "spirit" cat, you know they are there, you just don't see them much.
Because of this I started bribing her with the leftover canned food from Bryde. So she appears most mornings for that when I call. But last week I didn't see her for 3 days... She's 8 years old now, which is old for a barn cat.
I am glad Joan came back.
It was a big relief when Joan came back.
Oh! I hope you would see Dennis again very soon. Those raccoons could frighten her away. Hope there’s some good solution to the matter. Would like to know when Dennis came back.
Oh, she came back after 3 days. I am a bit concerned about the raccoons, even though there have always been raccoons in the barn. I've been contemplating catching her and letting her spend the winter in the butchershop. Nothing can get in there and her food and water would be left to her. But I doubt she'd ever forgive me...
So glad to know that she’s back. Hope you could persuade her to go to the butcher’ shop in winter.
As long as she doesn't seem threatened, I'll leave her alone. It will be very traumatic for her to be caught and put in there. Knock wood, there hasn't been any sign of raccoons again and she seems back to normal.
