Beautiful Sunday: cycling along the dirt road on a nice day.

As things always change, nothing stays the same forever, so does the weather keep on being unpredictable. I have learned to shrug off the gray vibes of a cloudy day without sunshine and cool breezes. Luckily my orange cats would keep me grounded and showed me how to enjoy the moment. I could either take a nap or have some snacks like my cats. Watering plants around the garden always brought me back to earth.

I was determined to make the best of a beautiful day with gentle sunshine and calming vibes. So, I would often go cycling alone the dirt road in the afternoon to survey changes in the neighbourhood. It’s a bonus if I could see a colourful sunset by the river. Every trip seems to be a new experience to me as thd surrounding nature is forever changing in their vibes. Local people would do some hard trimming of plants and villagers would bring new cows to gaze the nearby fields. I have to take notes of changes along the way, so I wouldn’t be taken by surprise when sudden changes happen one day.

I have added a new detour towards the resort by the riverfront. I rarely cycled to that area as I preferred to stay away from busy lanes with people activities and loud noises. The newly built promenade was surprisingly empty of people. This area would be crowded and noisy during village’s fairs and festive occasions. The three big houses by the promenade looked very quiet and aloof; one of the houses belonged to a couple of expat and his Thai wife. I happened to see them one morning as they were sending their daughter to school. I was quite curious how many languages this kid could speak. Perhaps one day I would have a chance to know this couple.

Looking down towards the river, I was surprised to see several floating houses on the river. It’s good to know that local authority allowed people whose families have been living on floating houses to continue their old way of life. But I would think this lifestyle would disappear soon as these people would have some legal complications on housing status and personal documents. Their lives would get harder as there wound be less fish for their livelihood soon; more than thirty dams in Laos and China have become fully operational.

This would mean sudden decrease of water level and spawning fish would be kept upstream. I hope there would be no international disputes on water issues in the near future. The more people encroaching on nature for fiduciary gains, the more adverse impact would rebound on our lives. My cycling exercise was supposed to help emptying my mind of all worries and fuzzy thoghts. But I often ended up with thinking about nature and how careless and thoughtless most people have treated nature. I dreaded the day when Mother Nature would be fed up and decided to teach us some lessons.

Fortunately whenever I got away from beong in the present, a whisper in the air would tell me to enjoy the lovely sunset and surrounding nature. The voice reminded me that tomorrow things would be different; the present soon became the past. I shouldn’t lose the opportunity to live in the now before it slipped away forever.

I realised that thoughts, memories and my conditioning were habitually driving my brain via perception and interpretation within my conditioning and habit. I had to remind myself to be mindful of myself and surroundings then my mind woukd be free to see things as they were. The space in my mind made it possible to get in touch with compassionate vibes of Mother Nature.

Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.

Stay strong and cheerful.

Lovely views from Nature, beautiful sunset! It's always a great experience to take a trip and contemplate our natural surroundings. I hope the lessons from Mother Nature wouldn't be that severe :)

Thank you very much for your kind comment. I hope that Mother Nature would still have lots of compassion and would help to protect us from all harms and natural disasters.

What a serene environment to cycle in. The floating houses are very interesting to me. I think I'd like to stay on one for a while.

Things may change but one thing that doesn't change is your divine sunset on the river.

Yah. I would be too jumpy during the night if there were noises in the river. You might have a Naga visitor!🙀
