[Minecraft] — The Hive Awakens ⛏ — Getting started on the new server! 🐝🐝

Have you seen the news? I made a new Minecraft server! It's pure vanilla, is just for Hive-folk, and I'm planning on holding some various Minecraft-related contests over this upcoming year! 😄

The contests? Once I work out the Multiverse plugin so we can have the main vanilla Survival world and then additional contest worlds. I was thinking things like a Hardcore challenge. A Skyblock challenge. Building challenges. HIVE/Hive-SBI rewards. We'll work it out in due time!

In the meantime, it's just Survival, and I've been dabbling in it here and there since I launched it a week ago. Unfortunately I don't have toooooo much time since I'm finally officially a working woman after literal years of job rejections.

But.

Here's what I've done so far!

For the record, I'd just like to state that even though I'm admin of the server I am playing it properly as a survivalist.

Obviously when building certain things for the server I'll be plopping myself in creative mode, but, for the most part, I'll be in survival just like everyone else.

I had parked a bunch of boats around the server spawn point, so I quickly made myself some wooden tools and a bed, and hopped onto one of the boats to begin my new life. xD

The spawn-point is surrounded by villages, some of which I've noted the coordinates down in the main spawn building. I have not touched those villages. I'm leaving them for whoever may join me on the server. 😊

However, on my journey to my eventual base place, I happened upon yet another village and decided to go visit their blacksmith. Inside the building was a diamond! Some tools! Armour and a sword! AND OBSIDIAN!

That's a hell of a chest and I'm glad I looked in it. 😅

After a bit of travelling, I passed a blue ice biome which I've kept note of for future zoomy-paths... and found a nice, forested mountain. This is where I've decided to make my base.

At the moment it's just my usual 'base' of an underground mine, but it'll get there. More importantly, there was iron in there so I made some extra tools!

Deep within the depths of my mine is a sizeable cavern! Complete with plenty more iron. I haven't explored it fully yet, but all in due time. I'm hoping there's an abandoned mineshaft in there.

Actually!

I might go back to the world's spawn point and see if there's an abandoned mineshaft around there, too. If I make an XP farm, it'll probably be best located over there, like, as part of some sort of communal area or something.

After a bunch of time spent in the mines, under attack by skeletons, it soon became evident that I needed more food, that I was running out of my initial serves of chicken.

I quickly dove down into the ocean to kill some fish for my supper, then terraformed and built up the area outside my mine as a small bit of farmland.

Then lured some chickens into their new pen.

I'm growing some wheat now so I can lure the sheep and cows over. Thankfully the immediate area seems to have an abundance of wildlife so I won't have any trouble finding them to bring home.

And that's really it for the time being!

Wednesdays are my rostered day off -- which is tomorrow -- so I might spend some time at the spawn hunting down some stuff to make it more communal. 😄 It'd be super if there were some cave spider spawners, or a skeleton spawner, somewhere around the area. Every server needs a good XP farm!!
