🌞 [Let's Play] My Time at Sandrock 🌡 (cont.)

In the last My Time At Sandrock post I introduced Lily, new Builder of Sandrock, and we began her great adventure!

At the end of the last post, a troupe of lizard people (Geeglers) had ransacked the local moisture farm and as a result the farm that supplied food to Sandrock had been destroyed. Exploded. Everyone was going to starve! 😱

What could we possibly do to remedy the situation whilst keeping hope alive within the townspeople?

A dance party of course! With a box to one side so that people could donate any extra food they might have so that it could be split amongst all the townspeople fairly.

But mostly the dance party.

Lily came out on top because she is awesome, and won this fantastic outfit!

She could now be a Builder and save the world in style!

Which she did very swiftly. Before even a smidgen of desert dust touched her new clothes, she zoomed down to the broken moisture farm and saved the day with her trusty pickhammer.

Now she could finally learn how to farm!

With her newfound knowledge fresh in mind and a bag of seeds in her left hand, Lily waltzed back to her Lair and prepared a couple of plots.

It was small now, but in the future it would be grand. Plots of farmland to rival all other farms.

But that will be the future. When there is plenty of land to use and all those machines lying around are in their own factory building. xD

The end of the month arrived and with it came a ghost hunting town event! Separated into two groups, one group were ghosts and the others were hunters and we tried to get as many points as we could.

Of course, Lily being as awesome as she is, came out on top and took home all the prizes!

It's just a bunch of stuff for the walls and some decorative lanterns, and they're just thrown everywhere willy-nilly for the time being, but I have them. I won them and they are mine and they will one day be located in more aesthetically pleasing places. πŸ˜…

Once the house is expanded and all that.

With all the fun and games out of the way, it was time for this Builder to get back to work.

The lizard people were lurking in a nearby ruin, they were threatening the peace of Sandrock, and they needed to be dealt with. In order to get to the ruin where the lizards lurked, we had to mash together a kind of airway tram system.

20241002201555_1.jpg

Of course the line that Lily's tram cart was dangling from decided to snap under the pressure, depositing both Lily and Justice, the local corpsman, right into the Geegler's den.

Justice threw Lily a gun and together they rampaged through the area, trying to find an escape route so they could meet up with the other corpsman, Unsuur.

Before they could escape, however, they came across the leader of the Geeglers. A great fat lizard who had declared himself President and was hellbent on taking over Sandrock, then the world!

Before they could kill him, he jumped onto a makeshift train and headed for Sandrock, ready to claim it as his first prize... but the bridge collapsed before he could make it.

The town was saved.

It was one disaster after another.

Now Lily had to get her Builder on and help rebuild the train tracks and the bridge. That meant she'd need to do a loottttttttttt of mining. There'd be a need for bronze, for steel, for everything hardwood and hard metal!

If they didn't fix this soon, they'd run out of water. The oasis Sandrock had been built next to was drying up. This was awful!

Lily, Mi'an the other builder, and the local architect were going to have to get to work, yesterday. They needed to save the day, again!

Until next time! 🌡🌞

These dance dynamics become quite difficult.

Oh they definitely do! I miss-pressed quite a few. πŸ˜… Thankfully not too badly though.

What can she not do? So she is a builder, farmer, dancer (?), and good at games (ghosthunting? sounds fun...lol). One day she will build a rocket ship and go to the Space too.

I don't think the technology in this apocalyptic world has quite returned to that extent just yet! xD I'm sure she dreams of rocket ships and being the best dang astronaut ever though.

The first time I ever heard of the My Time series was when I saw a FB ad talking about how they reached 1mil on kickstarter for a new game, or something along those lines.

My Time At Portia was their first game and it was fantastic!! My Time At Sandrock is even better, just the same as Portia but with so much more quality of life, and the story and lore of both of them are really good.

I didn't help kickstart either of those two... but yeah, their latest one will be coming soon, My Time at Evershine, and I definitely kickstartered that one!!!! :D :D Loved the first two too much not to.

Hectic! Things move real fast in this game! From a dance party.. to owning a farm... to falling of a broken tram bridge! Imagine! It does look like it has a nice fun element to it though!

The story any good?

The game has everything! xD Action, adventure, farming, building, friendships, loooove, betrayal, story! I love it.

The game series started with My Time at Portia, this one's Sandrock, and next is Evershine. I think the story is pretty good! They've done a good job at world lore creation and weaving stories that fit into that world. First time I played, I was shocked by a big reveal that happens a bit later in the game - since I wasn't expecting it, definitely good story writing! :D
