8 Minutes of the Blood Moon

8 minutes | f/14 | ISO 200 | 50mm

Here is my take on the lunar eclipse last night. The moon was almost directly overhead, and so it was difficult to shoot with any of the landscape in the same photo unless I used a really wide angle lens. I decided to shoot more telephoto, and get creative with a long exposure.

I took a few tries to get the framing and exposure correct. I used 2 and 4 minute exposures to get the feel of it and then shot two 8 minute exposures. This was the best of the two!

Enjoy.

Very cool. I like seeing how much it moved in that amount of time.
