Asean Hive Community Challenge #118 Dealing With Power Cuts
Hello everybody,
I super relate to this Challenge, now. This happened in December 2021, when Thypoon Odette landed in our City, totally black out for more than a month. Many electric poles fell down almost all in the City and Municipalities nearby. On the first day we bought candles from nearby stores, but soon the price went up and the supply was scarce, so, we bought dozens and dozens of candles at the factory in the next three Municipality from us, we need plenty so, we can place inside the fence all over because so dark outside especially at our side and back is a jungle.
This was at night time. While our gadgets to be charge we let the van start, stationary just for charging and also when we travel, it is much cheaper because the fuel is diesel.
When the candles price went up I made my own candle using salt, used cooking oil and cotton buds.
I placed rock salt in an empty glass candle.
Then, used cooking oil with the cotton buds wrapped with additional cotton placed at the center.
On the 2nd week, very timely a client of the Soil Boring Test paid to hubby, so, he decided to buy a generator.
Wallah, we have lights around our property but it was just very noisy, hahaha! But it was a good buy because after the electric was restored more than a month, the generator is in good condition until now it was 3 yrs ago we use it during brownout time.
Thank you @justinparke for this challenge I recalled and memories came up again in dealing power outage.
Thanks much for dropping by...

Recently, we have been experiencing power interruptions due to the heavy rain and typhoon. And the usual thing we use to serve as our light in the dark is candles too.
