The Equines at Barili Milk Station

I recall enjoying the birds of many kinds at Barili Milk Station last year so as we were heading home to Oslob after our stay in Hale Manna, I suggested we get the kids to see these birds. I was excited too as I remember how Matti was amazed upon seeing the huge birds and now that he is older and more curious, this visit will surely be an amazing one as he is with his cousin and family.
A consumable entrance fee of Php 100 per person will be paid at the customer service area in Barili Milk Station. There were so many guests at the entrance, some motorcycle riders group stopped by but they were just at the dining area so when we went down to their farm, there were only a few guests, thank goodness!
The first thing that caught our eyes were the chickens roaming around, they got Bantam which was very cute, and a fluffy one that had feathers all over its feet. But as we go further, we were all stunned by the number of horses that the farm have and they got donkeys too!
We all know that horses are expensive and this farm has at least ten grazing in the field. There were caretakers holding the donkeys and so I inquired, they indeed offer riding activities and the donkeys were for kids. I offered a ride for the kiddos but they declined. I guess they were scared! And so we were satisfied with just observing these equines moving around and munching.
One of the donkeys has an obviously big tummy and the caretakers said she's pregnant! It's amazing to see one, I guess that's my first time to really see a preggy donkey!
On this visit, we ordered pizza for our consumables, they also offer meals, and they had increased their pricing as I remember it was still cheap last year. Today, the meal prices start at Php 150.
We were really glad that they now allow visitors to go down into the garden. Last year, we were just on the balcony looking out at the animals and the beautiful flowers displayed but now, we were able to go up to appreciate the flowers. There's another bird sanctuary further down and we could see huge birds flying! I wonder if the owner of this place is somehow related to the Lhuilliers.
Anyway, the kids have fun, the green grasses make it safe for the kiddos to run around but we have to be careful that they won't touch the bougainvillea as they got thorns all over its stem. We took some family group photos too as we were about to go.
Then as we were heading up, we saw their peacocks showing off their colorful feathers! It was a great sight that my little one still remembers today. He always mentions the peacock with the colorful tail!
Thanks for reading!
