Jed Yabut Furniture, 2D Art and Swings at Mugna

Mugna is a Bisaya word that means create.
My husband discovered this place when we were in Tagbilaran City months ago. He needed a place to stay for work while I have training to attend in the city. He was supposed to go to Seattle's Best which has good coffee but because it's always noisy there especially with college students staying for hours at the cafe, he decided to look for another one as he will have a meeting that day and he needed a quiet place. He then ended up in this artsy and fun cafe!
So when he was here, he couldn't help but share with me how Matti would love to be there because of the swings on the second floor so when our Cebu friends came to Bohol for their anniversary celebration, we decided to bring them here and they sure enjoyed it too!
The ground floor of the restaurant has 2D art. It's cool, but we didn't choose to sit there, instead, we went upstairs to the second floor where the swings are. On the second floor, there are two divisions, one side which was near the stairs has this Boholano theme with paintings on the wall showing the chocolate hills and the Tarsier and other things. They have native lamps and hanging lights, the chairs and furniture were also native, made of rattan, and were designed by Jed Yabut, an all-original contemporary Filipino furniture & design company that uses 100% local, I have to also look it up and check his creations online. You must check his creations, they are really pretty, let's love our own! And yes, on their IG, they featured Mugna Cafe! These are the pieces that are available in Mugna: Kwadro Chair, Alon Lounge Chair, Bakawan Coffee Table, Abaniko Chair, Bunot Coffee Table, and Baraha Cafe Table.
Anyway, indeed the swings are a hit for the kiddos, our Matti and Kuya Lucas enjoyed swinging here. Even adults can have a swing too, it's kind of sturdy and it's comfortable! I could even sleep there if we have a lot of time to spare.
Anyway, Mugna Cafe Resto offers a wide range of food choices, they got native chicken soup too but also offer ramen and other pasta options. They have generous serving by the way and their pricing is just right for the experience you get here. I highly recommend their light spicy pork ribs!
Mugna Cafe Restor is easy to spot as it is just opposite ACE Hospital. There are other food establishments around this area too so you can have other options when visiting this compound.
