To Be Satisfy in My Life, I Must Own My Dream House & Reaching The Highest Heights In Education

The most expensive things in life that I want right now is to own my own house and to pursue my Masters degree. I have many plans to let this dream come true.

In Ghana one of our major challenge we normally face as workers is the accommodation problems. The Government does not have a well structured system or policy for our accommodation system. Unlike many Countries that the Government has a well planned system of accommodation for workers, Ghana isn’t like that. As soon as you get job, the first thing is to plan toward where you will lay down your head with your family.

The question is it possible for every worker to build a house as soon as he gets job lol. This is an interesting question right? It’s obvious that those who have high paid job find it very easy to put up their building. However, those who have low paid job find it very difficult to begin building.

I don’t actually know if this exist in every Country, to begin a house one would have to acquire a land. That alone attracts a huge sum of money. The cost of the land depends on the location where you would want to put up the building. Imagine if you if I want to up the building in the capital city of Ghana; precisely East Legon. Acquiring land at place will cost Billions of Ghana Cedis before planning the kind of the building style I would want to put up. The layout over there is well planned so the town planners would even decide the kind of the building I’ve to put up, not just my choice of house. After acquiring the land with all document legally prepared, I need to think of the building materials like the good sand for molding blocks for erecting the building, the chippings, cements, iron rod, wood as well as good architecture and his workmanship till the completion of the building. Oh!, I thought the building is complete lol. It has left with the finishing which also involve plastering of the outside and inside walls, the plywood for the ceiling, nails, fixing of doors and windows, the soak-away, main-hole, the toilet and bath and other minor works.

Imagine after I’ve completed the whole project building, my expenditure is closely 10 Billion for a simple house, about 4 bedrooms, kitchen toilet and a hall. Does my salary gives me the chance to put up that building? That’s really my challenge here, so you see due to my salary being meagre I count get my dream house as I want. With the high prices of goods due to the depreciation of the Ghanaian cedis against the Dollar, building materials have really gone high. It’s not easy to build a house.

It takes a lot of time when you think of acquiring a house especially when you don’t have a very hive paid job as I’ve illustrated. But I’m planning to have other side job; if part time job aside my permanent job to increase my finances. One approach that I’ve adopted lately is buying the items gradually but not thinking of getting everything at ago. I have also learnt a lesson from many experienced people especially those who have built houses. They also say that it’s advisable to build few rooms as 2 bedrooms, kitchen, toilet and bath than to put up many bedrooms which would demand huge sum of money.

The second thing I'm looking up to is to move forward in my education. In my infancy education has been my target no matter what happens. That's why I was advised to go learn trade work but I refused to accept. I went on to choose education. And here I am with my Degree. I think this isn't the limit, the sky is rather the limit. But, going forward too, education has become very expensive, especially if you think of paying about 20,000GH¢ for Masters degree and being paid small amount of salary every month, it doesn't match well. Since it's the path I've chosen to be, I've no option rather than to move forward. The more I aged the more learning become very difficult for me. That's why it has become urgent for me to pursue now.

The only way I can achieve this is to save money. I've began long time to saving money to pursue. This could take few months and maybe next year I can begin my Masters Degree.

The price of things keeps getting very expensive, cost of living is very high and it supercedes the salaries of a common man. Money hinders dream from existing, is that what it is? I myself am confused🤔Well, I wish you luck with your building project.

The more we keep postponing things really get very expensive especially with the materials we use for building stuff. That's why we must plan ahead. Thanks for coming round.

The good thing here is that you have already taken a step in pursuing your dream which is saving money. With time all you desire is within your reach

Yes, I agree with you that the more one aged, the harder learning becomes. It is the reason one should do something at the earliest moment. I believe with determination and proper planning, you will achieve them.

So, I always say this that I've missed more opportunities in my life for not continuing my education very fast. Now, I'm aging and it seems to me I should concentrate more on how to make money rather than pursuing my education.
