[ENG-SPN] The alchemy of stone / La alquimia de la piedra
Jesus Christ spoke, using the parable as the main method to educate disciples who barely understood him before Knowledge settled, both in their minds and in their hearts, from the wonderful experience that occurred at Pentecost, of transmuting the dead stone in living stone, referring to that internal alchemy, which, however, also has its foundation in the external world, where it could be said that stone -both generically and metaphorically- has been the key piece on which they have been founded. practically all world religions. In this sense and with reference to Christianity, we must not forget, either, that famous phrase of Christ to the Apostle Peter, when he told him: 'you will be the rock on which I will build my Church'.
Unlike modern architecture, whose patterns seem increasingly removed from that spiritual symbolism, which used to be present in all the great architectural landmarks of the past, the medieval stonemason, in addition to being a famous mason, was also a virtuoso of the spirit, who never left anything to chance and in whose work, no matter how little we pay attention, we can always see flashes of beauty and immortality.
