[ENG-SPN] From the Saint James Way in Madrid / Del Camino de Santiago en Madrid

It is difficult, for those who carry in their veins the indomitable spark that makes them feel, as Hesse said, that all roads lead home, not to stop, precisely, in this place and feel a deep nostalgia for that one, which, for many, is the most magical and transcendental path that exists: the Saint James Way or the Way of the Stars.

Nor should it be surprising, that in the heart of one of the most charming groves that give deserved fame to this garden of dreams, which is the Retiro Park, in Madrid, in addition to paying homage to that transcendental path -which, Anecdotally, it served as a creative experience for writers such as Paulo Coelho or great actresses such as Shirley McLaine- sit, even more intensely, if possible, those mysterious stanzas of a famous poem by Antonio Machado, where the soul is told walker that is in every pilgrim, that there is no path, because the path is made by walking.

Detail, on the other hand, that makes the heart beat faster, especially when it feels completely exalted before the sublime vision of its transcendental symbols: the scallop, distinctive of all pilgrims and the strength that emanates from the solid transepts, with its typical Calvary on one side and the sweet and compassionate look of the Virgin, on the other, which have been and always will be symbols of Light on her Path.

Es difícil, para aquellos que llevan en sus venas la indómita chispa que les hace sentir, como decía Hesse, que todos los caminos conducen al hogar, no detenerse, precisamente, en este lugar y sentir una profunda nostalgia de aquel, que, para muchos, es el camino más mágico y trascendental que existe: el Camino de Santiago o Camino de las Estrellas.

Tampoco hay que extrañarse, que en el corazón de una de las más encantadoras arboledas que dan fama merecida a ese jardín de ensueños, que es el Parque del Retiro, de Madrid, además de rendir un cumplido homenaje a ese camino trascendental -que, a modo de anécdota, sirvió de experiencia creativa a escritores, como Paulo Coelho o a grandes actrices, como Shirley McLaine- se sientan, con mayor intensidad, aún, si cabe, esas misteriosas estrofas de un famoso poema de Antonio Machado, donde se le dice al caminante que hay en todo peregrino, que no hay camino, pues se hace camino al andar.

Detalle, por otra parte, que hace latir aceleradamente al corazón, sobre todo, cuando éste se siente completamente enaltecido frente a la sublime visión de sus símbolos trascendentales: la vieira, distintiva de todo peregrino y la fuerza que emana de los sólidos cruceros, con su típico Calvario en un lado y la mirada, dulce y compasiva de la Virgen, en el otro, los cuales han sido y siempre serán, símbolos de Luz en su Camino.
