[ENG-SPN] From the impossible, possible / De lo imposible, posible

The world, its mysteries and that relative, although wonderful Pandora's Box that are always the countless paradoxes of it. From that subjective assertion of Buddhist traditions that affirms that everything that does not exist, exists or, in other words, that the impossible is also possible, there are many stories that have assaulted the imagination of men throughout an Evolution, which, although for our weak retrospective vision it represents a true fall into vertigo, it is nothing more than a simple flicker in the transcendental mechanism of a Universe that never ceases to surprise us.

The North of Spain has always been, in that sense, a true breeding ground in which the main ingredients of that succulent delicacy that is always the Fantastic have marinated. Myths, rites, traditions and legends have fueled the transcendental anguish of generations attached to the subtleties of the environment, where the impossible becomes, paradoxically, possible, as happens in Liérganes, a picturesque little town in Cantabria, near the coast, where the fascinating story of one of his neighbors is remembered, whose fascination with the sea led him to become a fish-man and whose veracity was even recorded by a staunch defender of mermaids, such as Father Benito Feijoo.

El mundo, sus misterios y esa relativa, aunque maravillosa Caja de Pandora que son siempre sus innumerables paradojas. Desde ese subjetivo aserto de las tradiciones budistas que afirma que todo lo que no existe, existe o dicho de otra manera, que lo imposible es también posible, muchas son las historias que han asaltado la imaginación de los hombres a lo largo de una Evolución, que, si bien para nuestra débil visión retrospectiva supone una verdadera caída en el vértigo, no constituye, sino un simple parpadeo en el mecanismo trascendental de un Universo que nunca deja de sorprendernos.

El Norte de España siempre ha sido, en ese sentido, un verdadero caldo de cultivo en el que han macerado los principales ingredientes de ese suculento manjar que es siempre lo Fantástico. Mitos, ritos, tradiciones y leyendas han alimentado la angustia trascendental de unas generaciones apegadas a las sutilezas del entorno, donde lo imposible se torna, paradójicamente, posible, como sucede en Liérganes, un pintoresco pueblecito de Cantabria, cercano a la costa, donde todavía se recuerda la fascinante historia de uno de sus vecinos, cuya fascinación por el mar, le llevó a convertirse en hombre-pez y de cuya veracidad, dejó incluso constancia un acérrimo defensor, también, de las sirenas, como fue el Padre Benito Feijoo.
