P1390555_edited.jpg

Halfway along the route, give or take a meter, of that central and popular Carretas Street, which, starting at kilometer zero of the Puerta del Sol, ends a few meters further up, in the Plaza de Benavente, a small maze of narrow streets stands out, which, inviting the curiosity and adventure of the daring traveler, lead him towards that small Olympus of earthly pleasures, which is, without a doubt, the unique Barrio de las Letras.

Narrow streets, which, displaying names like Cádiz or Barcelona, sometimes surprise by the presence, in the uncertain wetlands of the old corners, of certain interested companies, who, having lost the month of April when youth was a divine treasure, wander like zombies, day and night, maintaining the same uninterrupted schedule as some well-known locals.

But it is also an area where old restaurants offer, in their ancestral and underground dining rooms, a good part of that ancient and immeasurable treasure that, to this day, continues to conquer palates: the Gastronomy of Madrid.

When you talk about the gastronomy of MADRID, I remember a video by LUISITO COMUNICA, a well-known influencer, who visits a restaurant and says that the best food in MADRID is COCIDO MADRILEÑO. Many influencers today focus on trying the food of the countries, giving a guideline for those who are going to travel. I think it's good because you have a reference of what to eat and restaurants to visit.
I wish you a happy start to the week.

In the cellars of an old medieval Spanish monastery, there is a sign that says: 'wine is culture'. Well, the same could be said of gastronomy. I think it is fascinating to enjoy, if not all, at least the main dishes of the countries and cities you visit. And coming to Madrid and not trying, at least, its stew (at least in winter) is missing out on a good experience. It is good to include this part in any travel chronicle. Thank you for your comment and I also wish you a happy week.
