Needleworkmonday Crop Top Tutorial || DELETING EXCESSIVE NUMBER OF PHOTOS

(Edited on Canva)

As I was making my crop top pattern, taking pictures and some videos, I noticed that my phone storage has become lesser and lesser and that I can't make any more videos for my pattern. That's because I have LOTS of inspiration photos mostly crochet items and patterns of course coming from the internet waiting for me to have my version for quite some time now. And they are increasing day by day. But when I think of things that I want to crochet, I still search the internet for ideas.

Now tell me what kind of disorder or illness is it?

Is it still NORMAL?

Do you feel the same way?

I need your feedback about this matter as I was worried that I am having an abnormal reaction toward crochet items.😅

But anyways, I decided to check each picture and video on my phone and started to delete those images that I think I wouldn't need anymore.

I deleted many patterns, amis inspiration photos, videos from our walk, and many more screenshots but then it was not enough. Before, I remember having 5000+ photos and forgot how many videos I have. I'm not the type of person who loves to capture a selfie so you would hardly see one except for my IDs.😅

I noticed this one album I named "old rose top" which was dated last June 22-23 and asked myself if I had shared this tutorial on the Needleworkmonday community.

(Details' screenshot)

I check all my posts here in hive backward until May 2022 and noticed that I had never shared this one. So I decided to share this tutorial first before I finally delete this album.

MATERIALS

But I noticed also that there was no photo of the materials that I used but I do remember that I used:

  • 3ply mercerized cotton in old rose color
  • 2mm crochet hook
  • scissor

PROCEDURE

1st layer - I started it with 18 chains then DC on the 15th chain down to the 1st chain. On the first chain, I made 3DC-chain1-3DC (this will be the very top of our cup) then worked to the other side, 1DC on all stitches.

2nd & 3rd layer - chain 2 and make 1DC on every stitch except on the very top which I made the 3DC-chain1-3DC.

4th to 9th layer - I just repeat the procedure except that I made a 2DC-chain1-2DC on the very top of our cup.

By the way, I'm making a small bra cup size.

Then I made some SC on the bottom area of our bra cup then continue making more chains on the end of our cup measuring at least 25 inches long, as it will serve as our ties, then SC all the way backward.

I also made the other cup with the same pattern as our 1st cup and joined them.

Note: There was an inch distance between the two cups so we could still crochet the design in between.

Here, I began working on the middle, where you can see a design from in between the cups throughout the chest and neck area.

After that, I made again a 20-inch string attached to every upper end of our top. And made some ruffled crochet stitches on the lower portion of our crop top.

This design is best for ladies who want to hide their belly fat. 😅✌️ Just make sure to extend the ruffled stitches down to cover those baby fats.

IMG20220623100940_01

I already made this kind of crop top before in different colors and find it easy to remake. But I forgot how many hours and days did I finished this one but I think it will only take 2 days on the making.

If you want to do this crop top in bigger size, just increase the # of layers of your cup.

So after this post will published, I can finally delete the images and hope for a bigger storage for pictures and videos of my pattern making. By the way, as of this moment I only have 1909 pictures (from 5000+) and 5 videos left.

And that's all for today ladies. I hope you had fun with today's tutorial.

Enjoy your day and God bless everyone.

Yours truly,

@jonalyn2020 😘😘😘

I have made this type of top only twice, at first it was complicated to guide me by the pattern, then it was very comfortable to knit them.

I love that color of yarn, ideal for this type of garment. Very nice.

Yay, that's good to hear. And I agree, at first, I find it hard with LOTS OF TRIAL AND ERROR, as I have no pattern to guide me. But then on the 2nd try, it was easier. Thanks for dropping by @creacioneslelys.🥰

For someone who doesn't even like having belly fat, this design would definitely suffice to hide them whenever they show up.. lol.
This is beautiful 😍. Thanks for sharing.

I really love that lace design in the middle! It’s super gorgeous! I’m particularly in love with that color…my favorite! 😍

I’m glad you were able to clear out your phone. I need to do the same thing along with my email. 😄

Thanks for sharing this pattern ~

Yeah, I know you love pink shades. 🥰 right?

Oh the emails.🥲 much more to delete.😅 thinking it by now makes me feel tired already. The last tym I had 5000+ mails that I deleted.but that was months ago. and I have to remind myself also to unsubscribe some of the unimportant newsletters.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by @crosheille. 🥰

Who wouldn't love pink? I think everyone adores pink, including me.💕🥰

Good luck to both of us deleting those emails.😅 as it will eat up more of our time. Especially when you have to unsubscribe first before deleting it.😂😅

Beautiful work Jonalyn. Good thing you found this job before deleting it. I also have my cell phone with lots of photos, my storage is about to explode but with photos of my walks and trips. All the inspiration from other projects I have saved in my social networks 😅.

Thanks, Lau.🥰 good thing I had it examined first before deleting it. I had also saved some project inspiration in my social media but I have this manner that screenshot is the easiest way to view it again in my phone's gallery.😅

Anyway, thanks for dropping by Lau.🥰

I love the top, and the tutorial is so easy to understand. Thanks for sharing.
Ok, so I'm having some issues measuring the bust, I want to start a crochet business but I'm still learning now and I'm having difficulty measuring the bust like the different sizes and how do I measure a small and big cup without actually seeing the customer?
Thanks

Thank you @meyateingi.🥰 I'm happy to know that you understand the tutorial.

Well, I just compare my work with the actual bra sizes, and I just ask the client/customer what was their usual bra size. This reference is for the cup size only. But most of all, I do crochet tops like this with adjustable ties on the back so it could be easily adjusted. I find it helpful especially i cater customer online.

Hope it can help you too. You can do it.🥰

I have 10k+ pictures in my gallery.
Saving different fashion designs hoping that I would learn from them or recreate the styles.
My phone memory is filled up as well and am hoping to get something with larger size probably from 200g above.

Its very normal and the way we get more inspiration but its a good thing to look back and delete the ones we no longer need.

The pattern for your crop top is really lovely and am glad you get to share it before deleting.
Well done dear @jonalyn2020 😍💃💖🌹

So I'm not alone.😅 and it's normal./That's good to hear. And yeah, you're right. Those inspirational pictures help us imagine and try new ideas. So it is indeed a very common act for an artist to store photos of inspiration .and me too, I think I need more storage capacity. 😅

Anyways, thanks for dropping by dear Monica. 🥰 have a good day.

Hi there @jonalyn2020

I just wanted to let you know that this is absolutely beautiful. My Grandma taught me to crochet when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I remember my 1st work was out of purple thread and was just a long long chain. All different sizes and such. I got pretty good and actually made a few things. But I cannot do this kind of work anymore cause it makes my hand swell and becomes painful. I had a break in my hand when I was 15 or 16 years old. So I can only look these days.
My Granny did enough works that I think everyone had a huge bag full...lol

Thank you so much @jeridawn for appreciating it, having the time to read my post, and also for your comment. 🥰

Sorry to hear that. But did you have an accident when you were 15 or 16? I know that you wanted to crochet again beautiful stuff, that's why you still try and that makes your hand swell and in pain. I can't imagine myself also being unable to crochet anymore. It will definitely sadden me. How I wish a day will come that you won't feel that pain on your hand so can go back to crocheting. Virtual hug.🫂

Hello @jonalyn2020

Yes, when I was 15, I was in a little truck accident. I came out with my hand broke, slight concussion & a piece of rusty wire through my calve. 2 weeks later it looked as if I had been playing in black dirt cause both of my forearms were so bruised that it turned black. Then I had a green forehead and 2 black eyes. I was a mess ! LoL 😅
So now if I over use my hand it gets really mad at me. But I've devised other things to keep me busy. Such as I'm into embroidery 🪡 now. Just small pieces and I listen to my hand ✋ when I feel a little something with my hand, I stop what I'm doing. Take a good rest and it ok.
My Granny could crochet in her sleep 💤! I'm sure she did ! LoL she made so much that when she was trying to give her doilies away, we would run ,! LoL there's only so much you can use. LoL . Everyone in the family had Huge bags stuff she made. She lives to be over 100 but had to stop in her mid 90s, cause she couldn't see very well.
I'll soon put some photos of my embroidery on line here. I'm still just amazed at your crop top. It's absolutely beautiful. Do you sell them ?

Ohh yes, I fo rgot to tell you that there is a group of Ladies here in the U.S.A. that make these things called " Knitted Knockers". They make them for women who have had to have a mastectomy. It's all voluntary work. They don't charge, but do say that a $10.00 donation to cover cost of material , envelopes and postage.
got some for my Sister. She had to have a double Imastectomy. She liked them, but her skin was so sensitive she couldn't wear them long.
Take care, be safe and always look upwards !
