The level of hard work put into my rice is gradually coming to an end and everything right now points towards harvesting time though not all the rice have produced yet cause I planted two varieties of rice seed with one of them taking just like 3 to 4 months before maturity and the other taking more than 6 months before that point is reached.

On one of my farms I planted the two variety on the same farm and I separated them in a way that they don't mix up one side that contains the one for 4 months is ready and I will start harvesting it within the next two weeks but the other one is going to take a bit longer cause of the time it takes for it to mature which has become a cause for concern right now, rainfall has being quite in the past two to three weeks and the ground is gradually drying up, this might be good for one part of the farm cause it will be easier to harvest on a land that is dry and not swampy but it is also bad for the other side since a continuous absence of rain might cause the harvest from that part to be affected in a way that there will be no harvest at all from the part of the farm.

With the way things are going we might turn to irrigation to keep things going on the farm though it might be expensive but we still have to try, in other to prevent such a situation next year I have to plant that variety early. I prefer eating the long grained rice than the short grain rice that's why I plant it every year irrespective of the disadvantage that comes with it.
