Rice cultivation is done in different ways depending on the land,the type of rice and the climate around that area,for rice that are planted around swampy area it is better to first plant the rice on a small piece of land that is dry, that land will serve as a nursery bed for the rice seedlings to germinate on before transplanting to the farm but that will not be necessary for lands that are not swampy.

The main reason behind all this is that dry seeds find it difficult to grow on land with a lot of water the seedlings mostly get spoilt before they germinate, directly sowing seeds into seedbeds can only work if the land is not swamped and the seeds can grow on it but if that's not the case then it makes more sense and is safer to use a nursery before transplanting it that way things will be on a safer side and there will not be any reason to plant twice.

The seeds I am using are from the abundance that I had the year before since it was properly stored i can easily use it instead of going to get seeds now. The land that is used for the nursery has to be properly cleared to prevent weeds growing with the seedlings, this will reduce the stress of separating the weeds from the seedlings when it is time to transplant.

The seedlings need some space to germinate well and to germinate fast with a time frame of two to three weeks before it is transplanted, special preparation has to be made for pest especially birds and rodents without these preparation we run at a risk of losing the whole seedling before it germinates .
