Macrophotography of Gray Walang Sangit

This time I will share about marophotography of walang sangit or often called by the name of plant pests. This walang sangit is one type of insect that becomes an important pest on cultivated plants such as rice plants.

This animal is very easy to recognize from its shape which has a long body, and also has a brownish and gray color. As we can see that walang sangit has a proboscis to suck fluids in plants.

Walang sangit often sucks plant fluids from flower stalks and also liquids on rice fruit that are still at the ripening stage of milk, causing the plants to lack nutrients and turn yellow, if those who have been visited by walang sangit and suck the liquid slowly the rice plants will weaken and not containing.

This insect also emits a stinging smell to the nose. Actually, it is not only Walang Sangit that emits such an aroma, but there are many other types of insects like this.

I photographed this insect using my own cellphone camera and also added a macro lens to be able to photograph it. This is all I can give on this occasion and I hope you all like it.
