A Role To Play In Family History Related Diseases

SOURCE

I really appreciate my grandma and mother for taking good care of their health.

I only mentioned these two because they are the only ones I met alive.

Though my grandma is no longer alive.... May her soul continue to rest in peace 🙏 Amen.

When I was little, I could remember the remarkable things my grandma did to care for her health.

Like avoiding alcohol intake, eating healthy foods, limiting her carbohydrates consumption, limiting fizzy drinks consumption, she didn't like sweets and lots more.

The sweets own is what I could find annoying then without knowing its repercussions.

My grandma could drink tea without sugar or honey added to it.
If you are a Nigerian, you will understand how will love enjoying our tea.

My grandma could boil ginger, then add little milk to it and tell you to enjoy.......ahhhh I could whine and cry.

Then she will pity me and add a little sugar with "you are still a baby, but starting your life this way will make it easier for you"

My mom is like that as well.

My mom will use half cube of bullion cube (popularly known as maggi) to prepare a big pot of soup or stew but with lots of crayfish, fish and natural spices like curry leaf, african nutmeg, ginger, garlic, turmeric, onions, locust beans, scent leaf etc.

When I wasn't knowledgeable, I could complain, she would be like, "You don't need lots of bullion cubes to sweeten your food."

Allow crayfish and fish with other natural Spices to do their work.
I sha got used to this.

You could say it is old-fashioned 😂😂

No, it is a healthy lifestyle.

That doesn't mean bullion cube is deadly to the body, but much consumption of it, is the case.

Some will use like 10 cubes to cook a cup of rice or a pack of pasta.

While some will say we use it instead of Salt, thereby using lots of it as well to prepare a meal.

Their way of life helped us not to be predisposed to family history related diseases like.

Diabetes, certain types of cancer, high cholesterol, obesity, heart disease, kidney disease, and high blood pressure.

It is up to I and my siblings to continue with a good way of life by taking care of our health and extending it to our children.

We all have a vital role to play today regarding our health.

I know it is not easy.

Try as much as possible to take care of your health, be knowledgeable, and practice healthy lifestyles.

It is essential.

Don't force it to be perfect, just do the little you can.

Though other issues can result in contacting a disease.
But it is sad when family history is really taking a toll.

Best regards to us all.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog 😊
