My town's streets are a kaleidoscope of things happening closely, and another carrousel of events happening in the distance... They are few streets, they are tiny streets and easy to walk in a handful of hours... However, every day I am treated to a lot of drama happening non-stop and -sometimes- senselessly....

Las calles de mi pueblo son un caleidoscopio de de cosas sucediendo de cerca, otro carrusel de eventos ocurriendo a lo lejos... Son pocas calles, son calles diminutas y fáciles de caminar en un puñado de horas... Sin embargo, todos los días me regalan un montón de dramas ocurriendo sin descanso y -algunas veces- sin sentido...

These streets are so changeable, so eloquent, so unexpected simply because are dystopian in their intrinsic nature. If everything here in this town were all right, these would be neat, uniformly coloured and pristine streets for sure... Then maybe I wouldn't be in these streets navigating through dramas and miseries with my camera in my hand. Sometimes I think I am in a "universe invented in my head" where I create all this environment with the only and crazy intention to take pictures, title them and write a bit about it... But it seems I've seen too many films and read too many weird books, that's not possible!...

Estas calles son tan cambiantes, tan elocuentes, tan inesperadas simplemente porque son distópicas en su naturaleza intrínseca. Sí aquí en este pueblo todo estuviese bien, serían calles prolijas y de colores uniformes y prístinos seguramente... Entonces quizás yo no estaría en estas calles navegando entre sus dramas y miserias con mi cámara en la mano. A veces pienso que estoy en un "universo inventado en mi cabeza" en donde cree todo este entorno con la única y loca intención de hacer fotos, ponerles títulos y escribir un poco acerca de esto... ¡Pero parece que he visto demasiadas películas y leído muchos libros raros, eso no es posible!...

The strangest thing about all of this is the acquiescence of all of us. On the town streets people go around thinking that everything is "more or less fine" and/or that things will miraculously improve from one moment to the next... They've been like this forever!... I guess it's part of the ability we humans have to evade reality to avoid going crazy... My father used to say: "Here in this town, we are happy by automation"... :))

Lo más extraño de todo esto es la anuencia de todos nosotros. Por las calles del pueblo van las personas pensando que todo está "más o menos bien" y/o que las cosas mejorarán milagrosamente de un momento a otro... ¡Han estado así por siempre!... Supongo que es parte de la capacidad que tenemos los humanos para evadir la realidad y así evitar enloquecer... Mi padre solía decir: "Aquí en este pueblo, somos felices por automatización"... :))

Y como siempre suelo hacer con mis fotos de calle... ¡Aquí están para ustedes en blanco y negro también!... Ya son suficientemente elocuentes y dramáticas en colores, me parece... ¡Pero virarlas al blanco y negro la s convierte en verdaderas postales de drama callejero!...
