Exploring the luxury train coach used by Queen Elizabeth || Travel to Saidpur Railway Workshop, Bangladesh

(Edited)

Queen Elizabeth visited India during the British rule in India. A train coach was built for her journey. I had the opportunity to see this railway coach used by Queen Elizabeth during my visit to the Saidpur Railway Workshop last year.

Saidpur Railway Workshop is a giant railway workshop. There are many items from the British period. I visited railway workshops several times. My elder brother works there so it was easy for me to enter this workshop. Public entry is prohibited here.

The Railway Carriage Shop is spread over a large area. The coach used by Queen Elizabeth is located in the Railway Workshop Shop No. 09 - Carriage Shop. The railway coach number is 1265. After the partition of the country, the British government gifted this luxury rail coach to East Pakistan i.e. Bangladesh. Later this coach was reserved for the presidents of our country.

The interior of the railway coach is still decorated with beautiful and shiny furniture. I observed only the exterior of the rail coach. I heard the interior of the coach is amazing. Its magnificent interior will make even today's modern coaches look like toys. The structure of this specialized coach is made of wood. The permission of the authorities is required to visit its inner rooms.

Rich in history, this coach is a relic of Queen Elizabeth's use preserved in our country. It is preserved in one of the oldest and largest workshops in our country. A small museum has been constructed in this workshop. The museum is located across the street from the workshop. In this museum, I think you can see more about the history of railways in Bangladesh. If any such railway museum is opened for public viewing then the people of our country will know about the history of Bangladesh Railway.
